Is that the large captains choice? Hard to see the emblem. If it is you'll love it. Been using mine for a while. Builds up lather quick
It is one of the special edition Captains Choice, which I believe are the same dimensions as the original.

I just checked them out on etsy. I really like the one that's a sky blue color. Their spiked mugs are wicked looking as well. My AD is starting to act up!

Today I used a Fenton Green Glass Hibiscus Bowl to make lather in. It was made in the 1970's. 8" wide by 2.75" tall.
It was just sitting on a shelf collecting dust. I like antiques, but prefer practical antiques. So I dusted off and made a bunch of lather to shave with. It looks cool under a black light as well.

Ok, so I really liked the idea of putting ice water into a scuttle when the weather is hot for a refreshing cool shave but didn't want to mess with making the ice water every morning.
My idea, freeze the water overnight without worrying about destroying my scuttle in the process with the expansion of the water as it freezes.
My solution, drill a hole into a double walled stainless steel bowl so I can put water into it and freeze it. I also corked the hole.
I also had to find out how much water I need to use so that there was enough room when it froze.
The formula is simple and waters volume increase about 10% when frozen. The bowl will hold 5oz of water inside the walls. So FV=LV+(LV.10%) or 5.5=5+(5.10%). So to allow enough room I put only 4.5oz of water into the bowl.
This was a fantastically cold lather that was more like a thick crean than fluffy lather a provided the best shave I've had to date.

[MENTION=93996]DCRIII[/MENTION] Wow! That Idea deserves it's own thread, so it doesn't get overlooked. I think I'm going to me looking for a double walled bowl now. Hot lather is great in winter, but this may change my summer comfort level.
