I've only tried a couple boar brushes, so don't this as anything but my personal limited experience, but.......;
I can pull my badger out of the sink, squeeze it 'just so' and create perfect lather almost right away. Even 10 minutes later when I'm on my 3rd or 4th pass the brush still has just the right soap/water mixture. OTOH, with boars I need to keep adding water after every pass or the lather dries out.
