Head and face shave

Razor: Schick Krona

Blade: Astra SP (1)

Brush: Simpson T3

Pre-shave: Hot shower using Johnson and Johnson on face and head with facial scrubber

Lather: Clubman Pinaud soap. Bowl lathered for pass one then had to face lather pass two as lather deflated.

Passes: 2 plus pickups

Post Shave Routine and products:

1 - Hot rinse with microfiber towel X2

2 - Cold rinse

3 - Alum block

4 - Cold rinse with microfiber towel X1

5 - Aftershave: Clubman Pinaud

6 - Balm: LEA 3in1

Notes: This was a good shave minus the fact that the bowl lathered clubman deflated before pass two. I had to face lather from the puck for pass two. One small weeper and no alum feedback. This ended up being a DCS and just short of a DFS.

Head and face shave

Razor: Gillette fatboy

Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)

Brush: Parker chrome handle pure badger

Pre-shave: Hot shower using Johnson and Johnson on face and head with facial scrubber

Lather: Ethos dragonsbeard

Passes: 2 plus pickups

Post Shave Routine and products:

1 - Hot rinse with microfiber towel X2

2 - Cold rinse

3 - Alum block

4 - Cold rinse with microfiber towel X1

5 - Aftershave: Clubman Lustray Coachman

6 - Balm: Proraso blue

Notes: Today’s shave was great! This was my first shave with a Bic Chrome Platinum and I really liked it. It was very smooth and on the sharper end. Does anyone know where they fall on the sharpness scale? The Ethos soap never disappoints. It’s been a while since I used the Parker pure badger. I really liked it today! It’s scrubby but not scritchy. The only problem I had was shaving off one pretty good sized pimple, it hurt and took a chunk of skin! Thankfully it didn’t bleed a lot.

Head and face shave

Razor: Gillette Fatboy

Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)

Brush: Omega Pro 48

Pre-shave: Hot shower using Johnson and Johnson on face and head with facial scrubber

Lather: Marvy hard soap Cup loaded and face lathered

Passes: 3 WTG 7, XTG 5, ATG 4

Post Shave Routine and products:

1 - Hot rinse with microfiber towel X2

2 - Cold rinse

3 - Alum block

4 - Cold rinse with microfiber towel X1

5 - Aftershave: Clubman Lustray Coachman

6 - Balm: Nivea for men sensitive skin

Notes: I decided to use my cheapest, lowest grade soap Marvy hard puck. This soap has horrible reviews but with the Omega Pro 48 boar, generous loading, and generous water, I got excellent results!!! The Bic Chrome Platinum did very well. I can never go wrong with the Fatboy and I give it along with being on point with my technique a lot of credit as well.

Yesterday’s shave

Days growth: 5

Head and face shave

Razor: Gillette Fatboy

Blade: Bic chrome platinum

Brush: Omega pro 48 boar

Pre-shave: Hot shower using Johnson and Johnson on face and head with facial scrubber

Lather: Colonel Conk mug loaded and face lathered

Passes: 3 WTG XTG ATG all on setting 5

Post Shave Routine and products:

1 - Hot rinse with microfiber towel X2

2 - Cold rinse

3 - Alum block

4 - Cold rinse with microfiber towel X1

5 - Aftershave: Nivea Deep

6 - Balm: Nivea sensitive skin

Notes: This was a very good DFS+ Colonel Conk though not a high end soap did pretty well. It had good residual slickness and good post shave feel. There was a little stubble that would not cooperate and I’m not sure if it was technique or the soap or the blade.

Head and face shave

Razor: Gillette Fatboy

Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (4)

Brush: Simpsons T3

Pre-shave: Hot shower using Johnson and Johnson on face and head with facial scrubber

Lather: TOBS Lavender

Passes: 3 plus pickups WTG, XTG, ATG Settings 9,5,5

Post Shave Routine and products:

1 - Hot rinse with microfiber towel X2

2 - Cold rinse

3 - Alum block

4 - Cold rinse with microfiber towel X1

5 - Aftershave: Mentos Hero

6 - Balm: LEA 3 in 1

Notes: Had a great shave after 9 days which almost never happens. The Fatboy on setting 9 was very efficient and though there was blade feel it was not aggressive feeling at all. The Bic Chrome Platinum did a wonderful job on the fourth use. I bought a 16 pack sampler of TOBS and the flavor today was Lavender, I’m going to put the sampler in the rotation of about 13 soaps, croaps, and creams. I love the performance of the T3 and it’s hard to not favor it. This was a very comfortable and close shave. I’m very happy with the shave.

2 - Cold rinse

3 - Alum block

4 - Cold rinse with microfiber towel X1

5 - Aftershave: Black Magic alcohol free (Not Pictured)

6 - Balm: Nivea sensitive skin for men

Notes: I’ve been seeing a lot of posts featuring La Toja so I figured I’d use that. I like it and just have to remember use enough product and enough water. The lather did not disappoint. The Bic Chrome Platinum is holding up very well. I had some alum feedback on my neck but it wasn’t too bad.

Notes: Today was a great DCS DFS, very enjoyable. I’m partaking in the Fixed Four For March Madness (FFFMM) for the first time. I’m kind of excited because I change my kit on just about every shave. I think this will give me some time to hone in on my slim instead of using it every 7 shaves. This kind of gives me pause on my whole outlook on shaving. I have about a dozen soaps and creams and three main blades I use. I may consider doing this fixed four every month, we’ll see.

I started out with the Shave of Week Society - SWS

I haven't been posting there much, but I still usually stick to a razor for a week or two and the soap and aftershave for a month with the Soap of the Month Club.

The only thing I rotate daily is brushes! Well, because I have that many 🤣 and I pretty much like them all!

Yes you do have the brushes for sure! 😂 LOL

Notes: A late shave at 9:30pm as I have a physical therapy appointment early in the morning. I rushed the shave and used too much pressure and it showed. One really good nick and some moderate alum feedback in several places. I really have to remember to not rush and if I do, to be mindful of the pressure used.
