Favorite Stand-Up Comedian

Russell Peters, Aziz Ansari, Demetri Martrin, Bo Burnham, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle. All are great comedians.

George Carlin and Richard Pryor are still amazing. They'll be timeless.

I never cared for Dane Cook. Honestly, I like him better as an actor.

I used to sit up late and watch him on the BBC transported shows on WTTW Television in Chicago. A truly hilarious dry wit.

Brian Regan hands down. Saw him live a few years ago. By the end, I wanted him to stop telling jokes because my face hurt from laughing, and I could barely breathe!

way, waaaay back in the 80's i had the chance to see many top comics of that time, including leno who was at his peak and killing as a sub for johnny carson (and still very welcome on letterman's show). hard to belive but jay was REALLY funny back then. anyway, of all those folks, far and away the funniest was sam kinison.

like edcculus, i remember being completely unable to control my body due to laughter spasms. sam went into a bit about his younger brother who had just died in real life. he was expressing concern that liberace (who i believe had also recently passed on at that time) had become enamored of his brother in heaven. only he could have made that funny. i can still recall being genuinely fearful i would wet myself. this was in a big concert hall and the sold out audience was in the same shape; it was the loudest and most sustained laughter i've ever heard live.

between the gales of laughter and his particular kind of dynamic delivery it was absolutely rockin' and electric. in interviews he credited his previous job as a fundamentalist preacher for having taught him how to really work a crowd.

My favorite is Mark Lowry, because he has a flow and can go on a rabit trail and jump right back in like no other I have ever seen. I also like Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Bill Cosby.

Two of the funniest stand-up shows I've ever seen were in the '80's, with Jerry Seinfeld and Richard Belzer before they became famous actors. They could not have been more different from each other. Belzer was remarkably profane and Seinfeld didn't use even one four-letter word. Belzer opened for Elayne Boosler, who was terrific, also.

My favorite right now is probably Gabriel Iglesias and all his crazy voices, but Robin Williams' golf has to be one of the funniest things I've heard since I love golf but it often does not love me back.
