Preshave: Hot washcloth
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat (Tallow)
Brush: Yaqi 24mm synthetic cashmere
Razor: Rockwell 6S R6, Al Handle, Astra SP #5
Bowl: Turkish copper
Post-shave: Nivea Balm

I tried the neglected Rockwell R6 plate for a change. It's a good combination of comfortable and effective. I got a BBS, near enough, and no irritation.

I'll stick with this over the weekend, and see how it works out with the other soaps.

Hope it doesn't last long, @ChriWilson.

Notes:

Summary. A joy using my prewar Tech. Never stops to be fun. The Chinese KCG blade is quite a nice blade. Definitely smooth and sharp.

Almost caved at the Vintage Fair today but the universe rooted for me with a stand owner that raised prices from left to right if you showed any interest - even if his buddy said differently:incazzato. Not worth going it for. Still in!
