Only used this rather elegant 1930s French razor a couple of times and I'm unsure quite what to make of it. I don't really understand how it does what it does. First off, it's annoyingly tricky to align the blade because there's so much play between the top cap and baseplate. Once set up, it's limited blade gap and negative exposure requires a very shallow cap riding angle. But it seems to deliver a very, very efficient - bordering on downright aggressive - yet comfortable shave. Unusual and, I think, rather impressive.

1944-45 Gillette Regent Tech
Schick Plus Platinum (3)

Nice shave with this late WW2-era American beard-fighting machine.

When Gillette got the go-ahead to resume civilian production, they scrounged around to start putting razors together again. In this case, Milord heads on Aristocrat handles. The case, a wood and leather creation, is the real collectible. Alas, I have only the well-loved razor itself.
