Slant razors: Mild enough for daily shaving?

If I am comfortable with my Gillette Tech for daily use, which slant would likely suit me best?

The Krect Spiral Curve is one of the most gentle slant DE razors.
Its unusual structure also supports efficient flushing in a semi-locked state.

I shaved a fortune
I only have two Techs... the Canada Pre-War and the England Flat Bottom....They are both mild with the Canada Pre-War being just a bit more efficient....

If you want a slant that has the same smooth, mild shave... I think the recommendations above are accurate... Get the Merkur 37C.... As I mentioned above, it's a bit too mild for me.... I prefer the stainless steel Yaqi Slant 37.....

I would not recommend the PAA El Fantasma, the Merkur 37C, the WCS (designed by Charcoal Goods), or the Razorock German 37 for everyday shaving.

I don’t know that I have met a slant that I could daily shave with.

The WCS slant is probably the easiest of my four slants, and the El Fantasma is probably the hardest to use.

^^^The El Fantasma is the coolest to use with that Kryptonite glow!!! But it is a different shaver and requires some pressure to get it to work well.

In general, I would say shaving every day is harder on the skin, our largest organ, so I prefer to go every other day maximum, with every three days my norm.

If I were to shave every day, I would reach for my Gillette Tech, Merkur 34, or 37.

Final inquiry: How is the Merkur 37 in comparison to an average Tech, in terms of aggressiveness and likeliness to bite/be harsh?
Also, I've noticed that you all seem not to like the FCCS (closed comb/straight bar) very much. Is it that much of a dud?

I'll answer in regards to the German 37. It's not harsh. Just don't use a lot of pressure and remember you can do well with mid-sharp blades (such as Dorco Platinum, Astra, even Derby Premium). The shaving angle is built-in, just keep that angle and you are good. There is more blade feel than a Tech, but that just gives you good feedback, it doesn't irritate the skin.

The FOCS shaves smoother and better than the FCCS, so why not just use the FOCS?

Something else I was thinking, you should probably try a pre-war Canadian Tech. That is a more aggressive shaver than most of the other Techs, but it's still very smooth and easy.

Razorock 'German 37' for a first slant
I have one and I'm meh on this recommendation, leaning toward a flat nope.

The blade centering is "old school" (aka, sloppy casting tolerances), and the blade presentation is not the same from one edge of the safety bar to the other.

I got one based off a what-the-heck it's $10 decision tree since I already knew I liked slants (I 😍the FOCS), but I didn't enjoy that one. So, it sits in the spares/PIF bin, atm.

My 2¢,

I found blade centering is not a big deal if you press the top cap and base plate together and then screw the handle on. It is pretty much the same thing with the older Merkur slants. They did make some three-piece slants at one time.

The blade has a helical curve, so the appearance of not lining up with the safety bar is normal and doesn't cause issues, IME. A curve and a straight line cannot follow the same path.

I'm very happy with the way it shaves, not too focused on the appearance.

I appreciate your good faith effort to convince me, but I am a very fastidious person who works with machines and tools all day long - if I say it's poor alignment and difficult to adjust for, then it's true.

I fiddle for hours with every razor I have to learn how to set the blade properly.

And you can't fix the fact that the safety bar and the blade are skew.

Just facts.

Razorock German 37 slant is one of the few razors I just never fell in love with.

It's not any more efficient than any of my other razors, but it's easier to get a rough shave with than my favorites.

I also don't see any benefits from it being a slant.

I also prefer milder razors and, like a few others that have posted here, I didn't get along very well with either of the Fatip slants. After trying a few other different slants, including the 37 and the 37 clone, my preferred slant is the Ikon X3. I would describe the X3 as definitely in the Tech realm as far as mildness goes; a gentle but quite efficient shaver. It is aluminum, so it's quite light, if that matters to you.

Not the FOCS. It is amazing, but also amazingly aggressive. Plus you need great eyesight to keep it straight. The slant head and twisted handle play tricks on you.
Never had that problem. Not saying I can see, just saying that not seeing isn’t a problem for me, and I can’t see anything. Especially since I do face and head. Upside down, backwards, off handed, by feel.
I think your problem is you are trying to see.
Love my FOCS!

After using many of the super slants and many other modern razors I've settled firmly on the Blackland osprey. The clamping is better than any slant I've used and it's decidedly gentler. The ti is like I'm shaving with a laser that is gentle as a feather tickling away my beard
