The 2024: 1-Blade, 1-Week, *Daily Shaving Adventure

At times I thought it was a mild blade, but certainly sharp enough, but when I placed it in an aggressive razor, the King had no issues taking care of all my trouble spots without complaint. It glides too, not so much as a GSB or Silver Star in my opinion, but enough that I think this is a strong suit of the blade.

True that. The King is not quite up to a GSB but...

As of this writing, this is an 8 cent blade when purchased in packs of 100, and this is a good bargain.

This is what I mean.

The Treet King blade is a little different blade super stainless steel very mild, for me slightly inferior in quality only to GSB.

I used to consider my Voshkod's to be "Value Menu" versions of the GSB. That was until the Voshkod's took a substantial price hike.

Fortunately, I discovered the King, which has taken taken the value menu crown away from the Voshkod.

In the order I have 200 Treet Falcon, a little less than 200 Treet King, some Trig,Treet Dura Sharp packages and Treet Carbon Steel black beauties, because now there are also white Treet Carbon but in Italy they are not found yet.
I read that a lot of Treet blades will disappear and that Treet is working on improving the carbon steel blades.
It will be interesting to see the new changes, it will take a few years before all the Treet blades from the less reputable brands disappear from the market.

All my 100 packs have been sealed in plastic wrap which limits exposure to moisture or humidity. Sorry for your bad luck!
My blades were from 2014 them were ten years old.
I have so many Treet blades, carelessly I had not remembered that behind each package is the date of manufacture.
14 indicates the year i.e. 2014 production.

07-01-14 is stated on the package, a good ten years.

Thanks to Mr. Qudoos, it will be useful for next time.
I thought they were more recent production blades of 2018 or 2019, instead the first ones are from 2014 the same year as the Treet New Steel but the New Double Edge ones have found less success or were not evenly distributed in the markets by the Pakistani company.
The first production of the Treet King blades, on the other hand, should be from 2015 or 2016

Finished the week of 7 shaves with the Gillette Nacet. It performed flawlessly. Definitely in my top 5. For the blades I have probably ranked in the 2nd to 4th place. Definitely a blade that I could use exclusively if needed.

Next up is a Bic Chrome Platinum. My last one. Hopefully it will perform as good as the others of its tuck.

Here is this morning’s gear. Have a blessed week everyone.

From my experience the "Dorco Prime" is a better "Value Menu" version of the GSB. For me it is sharper and more smooth then the King. However, both the Treet King and Dorco Prime are not as sharp as GSB

Good to hear. I bought like 500 Dorco Primes when they were still < $7 a 100 pack. Prices seemed to have jumped to $10 which is still a competitive price if it indeed is similar in performance to the GSB.

Finished my week of Bic Chrome Platinum shaves this morning. The blade performed well, probably not in my top 5, but all 7 shaves were good enough that I would have no issues if this was my only option.

Next up is the Lord Platinum beginning tomorrow.

Here’s a picture of this morning’s gear. Have a blessed week everyone.

Tatara Platinum

I really liked this blade, unlike most of my fellow testers. I felt the blade was sharp and smooth and I got 4 nearly perfect shaves in a Yaqi Final Cut. In helicopter's excellent testing runs, the Tatara runs neck and neck with the Chinese version of the King C Gillette, so it is empirically excellent.

The sole detracting point is the relative higher cost for a USA buyer. It's around $22 per 100, and this is more than most Gillette blades which comprise my top blades. Nonetheless on pure performance along, I'll place it highly.

Tiger Superior

I'm pretty disappointed with the Tiger Superior. From some discussions I read, I thought it might be like the Tiger Platinum but with a boost in sharpness. I did not hate the Tiger Platinum actually, and was looking forward to a mightier version of it.

However, the Tiger Superior blades I have are actually around the same sharpness as the Platinum and perhaps even a little worse in performance. Damage in shipping, bad batch, this is the way they are supposed to be, I don't know which it is. I do know the ones I sampled aren't sharp enough for my taste. I can end up with a different shave, but it takes even and time to do so. Also, my stubble returns too quickly indicating I actually don't get close shaves with these.

I would not recommend the Tiger Superior.

Silver Blue

I forgot to write this up last week...

The Silver Blue is a Chinese blade. It seems to be an attempt to capitalize on the reputation of the Gillette Silver Blue, which indeed is a fantastic blade. I cannot say the same for the Silver Blue (China) but it was usable for me and I was able to get 3 competent shaves for my moderate density growth.

The Silver Blue is fairly cheap, but you likely will have to find a Chinese purchasing platform to buy it. It's mild in sharpness but as stated above for my use case, it still works. It did not irritate my face.

I would not go so far to endorse these, primarily on what I perceive to be questionable marketing practices, but the blade itself is OK.

Week 42 Ends: Blade is the Wizamet Super Iridium Extra Stainless.

Although I have only shaved with a few Wizamets, this week has provided me with the best shaving experience from Wizamet blades thus far.

My previous experiences were fine but not anything noteworthy. This week proved to be an exception.
