The 2024: 1-Blade, 1-Week, *Daily Shaving Adventure

Viking's Sword

The Viking's Sword was a Personna blade made in Israel. It comes in a plastic tuck and I found it quite performant, though it dulls a bit more quickly in my experience than some others.

It is certainly sharp with a degree of comfort and ease of use. Given these characteristics, it probably is good for a large cross-section of wet-shavers. On the negative side, the Viking's Sword is discontinued, I think, and as a result is harder to find and it costs more than many currently viable alternatives.

It is a good blade, and I have no real complaints about its performance, but nothing in the Viking's Sword would make me pay a premium for a discontinued product. I would buy some if I came across them cheaply, but I certainly wouldn't pay more than the cost of a GSB or a Nacet.

Finished up the week this morning using the Astra Superior Stainless blade. It was ok, not great and not bad. Would I buy another tuck? Probably not when my top 5 blades were available. However I did manage 7 good shaves. So really no complaints.

Next week and starting tomorrow will be a Gillette Nacet. I have high expectations for this one.

Here is a picture of this morning’s gear. Have a blessed week everyone.

Treet King

I enjoy the aesthetics of this inexpensive blade made by Treet out of Pakistan. The cover art reminds me of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte of the French, the major figure of his time, and certainly conveys an image of luxury and power. The blade itself is double-wrapped without glue spots.

I enjoyed my four shaves with the King. It performed well and adapts capably to the razor I used it in. At times I thought it was a mild blade, but certainly sharp enough, but when I placed it in an aggressive razor, the King had no issues taking care of all my trouble spots without complaint. It glides too, not so much as a GSB or Silver Star in my opinion, but enough that I think this is a strong suit of the blade. Durability was fine with no noticeable degradation over 4 shaves.

I liked the blade enough to buy a few packs from Amazon. As of this writing, this is an 8 cent blade when purchased in packs of 100, and this is a good bargain. I think it is a high value, well above average blade.

(I reranked a few blades aroung the 8-15 spots, following my current taste)

Hi Alex.
I'm glad you liked the Treet King blade I had no doubt.
I didn't understand what you wrote.
Do you mean these Treet King blades are produced outside Pakistan in another country?

@cranewarrior how do compare the Treet Kings to the Treet Platinum and Treet 7 Days? Aren't they very similar?

The 7 Days feels the firmest to me. Firm might be an unusual word to describe a razor blade cutting whiskers but that is what I would call it. Kind of like how some Durablades feel.

The regular Platinum is a classic medium sharpness stainless steel blade - it cuts cleanly without tugging, is reasonably comfortable to use, and is priced cheaply.

I don't have a lot of experience yet with the King enough to give a clear delineation with the other two.

Treet Platinum blades from Platinum to 7 Days always get good reputations, I don't remember probably I must have tried them at least the Treet Platinum.
Tomorrow I will buy the Muster blades which are always Treet platinum blades produced on behalf of this Italian company Muster-Dikson that manufactures and distributes items for barbers and beauticians.
The Treet King blade is a little different blade super stainless steel very mild, for me slightly inferior in quality only to GSB.

Blade Biter
I think Treet puts an excellent edge on most of their blades, but they cheap out on the steel stock. Longevity is noticeably below average.

Even the 7 days feels soft and flimsy compared to other blades.

1-2 shaves is all I'm comfortable with their stuff.

1-2 excellent shaves of course.

I present to you the first blade I did 0 shaves with before I trashed it.

I'm not the only one this has happened to, and it is fine.

I have sent a complaint email to both Mr. Qudoos and the general customer service address for Treet Corporation but I doubt they will respond soon.
I wrote that after this experience I will no longer buy Treet King blades or any of their types but only GSB's blade.
This is a joke!
Treet King blades I'll continue to buy,the carbon steel ones never again.

All my 100 packs have been sealed in plastic wrap which limits exposure to moisture or humidity. Sorry for your bad luck!
Evidently they realized that these blades rust easily and found an alternative solution to the cardboard packaging.
I have a few blade that show no signs of rusting;

I don't know whether to use them for a shave or trash them all.
So I don't have the anti-tetanus syringe handy.
