Rockwell 6s vs 6c

Rockwell 6S compared to the Feather AS-D2. Rockwell #1-3 plate set on #1 in my estimation shaves similar to the Feather. ;) Correction made. :)

@Uncle Sam Or you could do this:

EDIT: I just realised I had intended to post this picture in this thread some time ago now. Sorry about the delay.
Now, that's NICE! The main reason I changed my mind is that I have nine razors, including the excellent AS-D2, and, as good as the Rockwell may be, I really have zero need for another razor. It's just that I'd put myself on Rockwell's mailing list and got a notice earlier about it being back in stock.

Each to there own and all that, but the Rockwell has been the very definition of a workhorse since I received it. Trying a new cream, pick up the Rockwell. That new blade looks interesting, stick it in the Rockwell. Oh my, golly golly goo golly, I need to shave for a meeting in exactly 4 minutes, quick, get the Rockwell!

I wouldn't be without it, I kid you not.

I ordered one too. They are giving $10 off, free shipping, and a balm to boot. I figured it was a good time to try a 6S.

Ordered another for my son. The $10 discount, factor in the $10 balm, and it's $80 delivered to your door. $30 more than the 6C. Wonderful deal on the 6S.

I had (gifted) a Wolfman, own a Timeless .68, Charcoal L2, Blackbird and others. The Rockwell (BP 4,5,6) bests them all in the shave AND comfort. Such a wonderfully designed razor.

Rockwell 6S was $60 Americans in 2014 and also was in a metal box not cardboard one like now.
Too heavy on my taste.

I had my eye on this for a while then when I decided to buy, it was out of stock everywhere. Then a week ago I saw the Razorock Baby Smooth in stock and bought that. This razors appraisal in this thread is making it really hard to not buy one... must... resist... RAD. :001_rolle

I have to add, I've had the 6S for 3 weeks now and have not picked up another razor. I absolutely love this thing, worth every penny. I keep it on plate 3 unless I miss a day or 2, then will bump it up to a higher one. Can't recommend this razor enough.

Without meaning any offence to Rockwell, the 6S really doesn't strike me as an heirloom item. Very functional, but ultimately not that pretty.

Just me?
I think this is true of all stainless razors. They may last, but they are dull rather than shiny, and just don't have it in the looks department.

I have to disagree on that. There are some high polished stainless steel razors that look absolutely great and will outlast us. Brushed finish of some is also very nice.

6s has an industrial look, as someone could say, but it's unique to my eyes. I like that matte look. It also has a very nice grip.

But to each his own.

I am telling you now what I think. I shave 3 times a week. I just want a nice shave. I don't need 10 adjustments. I shave and go. I don't take much time.
Life is too short thinking about what setting I want today.

I used to be a 2-3 times a week shave guy with disposables. Since I found wet shaving and DE razors I crave to do it everyday which I almost do now. Having the adjustability is nice and I love my 6s so much I bought the 6c as my travel razor, so I won’t care if it did get stolen.

They were cleaning the MIM molds IIRC (parts were starting to look black instead of silver)... however, I have a 6S on order and a staff from Rockwell emailed me and said it should be back in stock by the end of this week.

I just picked up a couple of the recent 6S Rockwell’s as gifts. The molds must have been cleaned beautifully as these razors are spotless without a mark on them. Timeless, Blackbird and a couple others might be prettier but the higher baseplate shaves from the 6S are phenomenal.

That settles it, you need a 1950's Gillette Super Speed Flair tip w/ Treet Platinum. ;)
No need to thank me. :)
