I have a 6S and like it
I suspect you will find that the PS performs near identical to the Nacet. At least that is my experience. Curious to see what your experience is.Bumped up to 5 this morning with the nacet blade. Way, way better!! Going to try the permasharp tomorrow .
Can’t get over the noise of the blade seems very loud compared to other razors I have used, but I love it!
I understand what you are saying. It almost seems like tuning fork to me I guess it does kind of sing. I really like it but was not expecting at all. I agree not a lot of difference between ps and nacet but I think ps is just a hair sharper. In the slim nacet tuggs my mustache where ps does not. In a fat boy ps is just a little too sharp for me where nacet is perfect. Ps in the slim I could get full 5 shaves without much fall off nacet was about 3 or 4. To me the Astra sp and nacet are even closer than ps and nacet. Only difference is Astra sp quality of shave seems to fall off the table after 3 where nacet is more of a gradual decline to me.I suspect you will find that the PS performs near identical to the Nacet. Also, I like the noise. But, I do not like the word “noise” as it connotes a negative. I prefer to think of it as ‘the blade sings’ and different plates may slightly change its tune
Lately, my rule is to toss after 3 shaves. At about 3.5 cents/shave why temp fateI understand what you are saying. It almost seems like tuning fork to me I guess it does kind of sing. As an aside, if one is testing blades on a particular razor it is important to use the same shave soap, so only one variable changes. To me, the razor, blade, soap, face prep, and technique are all part of the magic formula.Well used the 6s with a Russian permasharp on 5 this morning. Cut much better but was a little too aggressive and irritating. So the next will be nacet on 6 and permasharp on 4. I think both will end up great!!
I would start out with plt#2, any Russian made Gillette blade, and a neutral angle. The 6c is a heavy razor so try not apply to much pressure. Stick with that for a few shaves to get the right technique down. Then you should be able to experiment with different plates as needed.I'm back needing some advice as far as wet shaving is concerned.
I've gotten pretty good with the Leaf Twig at shaving with the grain, but then when I'm going against the grain on the 2nd (or 3rd) pass, I get several nicks/bleeders below my jawline on both sides of my face every time I shave (in the exact same spots). Heavy lather, light pressure, slow and short strokes, etc. I've tried four different types of blades thinking that may be the problem. Obviously, I'm still the problem.
I've read several places that you couldn't cut yourself if you tried with the Rockwell 6C using plate 1 or plate 2. Is this actually true, even going against the grain?
I had pretty much given up on the 6C, believing I'd be better off without an adjustable razor so I could concentrate on form instead of switching settings/plates whenever one didn't seem to work.
The Twig seems so much easier for me to find the proper shaving angle, but if I'm cutting myself going against the grain, I'm obviously not finding the correct angle anyway.
Thanks for any honest advice!

Except, when you no longer have to shave every day, you may find that is no longer the case. The Rockwell 6C was one of my early ventures into modern razors. I loved it but I like SS, so when a used 6S came up I bought that. Gave the 6C to a friend and use the 6S on 3 plate more than any other razor I own. Once you dial in which plate you prefer the other plates go into storage because you don't need to change them anymore.
Am on fence to buy the 6c or Viking emperor Augustus adjustable razor like, the 6 c handle made of pot metal scares me for breakage if dropped but like the Rockwell multi platesNow that Rockwell has started their Black Friday Sale, a couple razors that were a bit out of reach for my budget have finally become close enough to my budget to be considered. They have the 6C ($49), 6S ($99), and T2 Chrome ($120).
The 6S is enticing because it's the stainless steel version of the beloved 6C, while the T2 Chrome is enticing because of the simplicity of changing the settings and the TTO head.
But I would appreciate hearing what your favorite Rockwell razor is and why you like it the best.
Thanks!
