2024 Shave Purchase Sabbatical - The Year of MacGyver

Still in

Set up for today is a simple one. The razor the Mrs. got for me for me this past xmas and the brush she secretly ordered for me before Shavemac closed down the configurator.
The past year or so she had grown fond of just a few combinations and unable to tolerate many scents due to the last drug regimen she was on, and it just so happens this was a favorite of mine as well.
A week ago today she passed onto glory after a lengthy hospice stay on the hospital, and today we have her celebration of life.
She was ready to go and her body was tired, and even though the last week she was with us she was mainly unable to communicate, the loss is very real.
Give your significant other an extra hug today gents.

My prayers are going out right now.

I hate to hear this too. I've never come close to losing my spouse but others close to me certainly, and I know these first days are not easy ones. Prayers for you and your family.

#12 Still. Been a busy summer, and I have not been on the webpage for sometime.

Still going through my supply. Interesting how a bottle may look like it will run out, but it lasts for a few more months.
Hope that we have a good number of us still in the game. I se that we have check-in number three approaching.

Still in and going nowhere, but I wanted to share a rare milestone. Years ago I made a blade bank to hold my discards. I considered a glass jar, decided against it because if it fell it would make for a treacherous cleanup job. Thought about a plastic container, then realized I needed a metal container to make disposal easy via metals recyling. And it had to be cheap. Behold, my creation is finally full. It took some effort to get the most recent blade in. I know I could force a few more in, but forcing razor blades into tight spaces strikes me as a bad idea. Time to make a new bank, just need a soft drink can.

Wow! Congrats! I was getting impressed with myself that I'd almost filled this mini-altoids tin. Now I have a new goal to shoot for!
