I am traveling this week so only took my brush and a couple of soap samples. Not wanting to have a wet brush in a plastic bag for the next 15 hours, I used my DE razor and the old Neutrogena sensitive skin shave cream I used to use.
Two things learned:
1) That particular shave cream doesn't cut for me now. Not after two months of good soaps and "real" creams.
2) The shaves I now get keep my face smooth and looking good a long time. 20 hours after my last shave—with this morning's cream and only one pass—my face feels as good or better as any shave I got with a multi-blade cartridge.
3) I just thought of a third thing learned: I need a brush for traveling, so it can stay dry and I can leave for the airport with a DFS.
