Your Definitive Drink

Classic Rusty Nail, Scotch and Drambuie over ice. I make mine 50/50.
Then a good whiskey any nationality.
 
- (with a meal) a pint of excellent hefeweizen (anything other than steak/seafood), a glass of a full-bodied spanish red (steak), or a glass of a german spatlese riesling (seafood/light fare)
- (on a date) a proper, original-style Old Fashioned
- (out with the guys) any of the sweeter single malt scotches, neat
- (out in a mixed group) any lightly flavored, lightly sweetened, vodka/gin/rum based cocktail, preferably a fizz
 
I'm a Jameson whiskey man, but I recently got a bottle of Glenmorangie single malt that I'm currently working through. Usually neat with a couple of cubes of ice.

Of course, nothing compets with a nice cold Castle Lager, especially during a BBQ, or with some biltong while enjoying the rugby ;-)
