Nice work, Mark!
Always restoring something . This home's header panels as well as a long corbel panel were either missing or rotted beyond repair. So I made /carved new pieces. 2 large and one small header. One floral drop and the corbel panel which sits below 3 windows .
There is a set of scales from the same chunk. A brush as well.Wow that's pretty. When is a set of scales going to show up?
16 glued up blocks of pecky Cypress ( 5" x5" x 18") came in which I've band sawed and am carving into corbels for a home in Florida. "Pecky" means the wood has been partially rated up by a fungus which leaves holes and missing sections scattered through the pieces of wood. Sort of like spalting or wormholes you'll find in aged wood . It's the look the Architect called for in this particular setting. The cabinets they go on are the same stock and they look really cool. Vintage ?
These are just a variation of the 3 ft ones I carved not long ago .always a popular detail.
