What shaving rules must you abide by?

Use just enough pressure to cut the whiskers. If you can feel it, it’s too much. Or it’s somewhere dense like the chin or upper lip. The whiskers there like rule-breakers alright alright alright

When I get to the point where I'm shaving my chin.... the whiskers are so tough there, I haven't managed to use zero or just a tiny bit of pressure... the razor just floats over them unless I add a bit of downward pressure. But I am trying to use less and less pressure. My "technique", such as it is, is definitely a marathon.. not a sprint. I am enjoying the journey but I can't see the destination yet, that's for sure.

I didn’t know this is a rule. I’m guilty of almost daily violations. Three kids later I haven’t damaged anything of consequence.

Yeah I'm not planning on having any more kids maybe it's OK to drop the blade now?

Ain't that the truth. This rule is like gasoline and a match when you don't follow other rules like don't rush and pay attention. Dammit, I'd grow a beard if I could stand it.

Since I have been wet shaving for 50 years now. My shaving is based on enjoyment, patiences, consistency, skill model , knowledge model, & adaptability. It is all built into the therapeutic stubble execution process.

I’m a daily shaver. My rule is don’t go after perfection. If it’s good, stop and life goes on. Every time I go for the gold, I cut myself.
