A few years ago I ran out of preshave and decided to try something different. My wife uses Purity cleanser from Philosophy daily and she swears by it. So with nothing to lose I decided to give it a try. It’s similar to preshave oil in performance without leaving any residue. Another benefit of using it is that it helps with soaps. I use MWF exclusively and with Purity combined I never get thin or weak lather. It rinses clean and I haven’t had a nick or weeper in years. As always ymmv.
