Just picked this up today
It makes lather a lot easier than my mug.
I have no idea what it's original purpose was but it makes my bathroom look a lot fancier

I have since learned its design is inspired by 18th century dutch brandy sampling bowls.

The CaYuen bowl on the left.. the Captain's Choice Soap Lock on the right... I melted a PAA Cube 2.0 Pre-shave in it and now use a brush to apply my pre-shave. It's fun and I get to use two brushes... I got the idea from @BobbyB .

Rich came out with a copper infused bowl just a while back. I ended up ordering a second bowl from him.... Like I need one. <eg>
