PIF: Starter Fountain Pen and Ink

I'm in! One of my favorite quotes of all time from my favorite author:

"Never underestimate the power of human stupidity" - Robert Heinline.

While I would not call Robert Heinline classic, he was one of the old school science fiction writers from the golden age. If you have never read Starship Troopers, pick up a copy, and forget you ever saw the awful movie.

I will pass on this one for someone less experienced with fountain pens.

A quote:
Life is not a spectator sport. Play is where life lives. Find your play, and experience this whole world on the other side of sweat.
- George Sheehan, MD

Here I am, 1st again.
I'm not in. I have a few pens, but I'm not a collector.

Here is my quote: Find the big important thing in this world, find God.

Great PIF Foyle! You know I have pens, so, obviously not in, but I thought I play along with the quote game....here's mine:

"The struggle of man against power is the struggle of memory against forgetting." - Kundera

Very cool. Not in--I presently have three, and have been using fountains for north of twenty years--but nobody ever went wrong reading a little Kipling.

Most recently quoted was "The Betrothed," but I'm reading The Jungle Book to my son, and I quoted "Dane-Geld" in my Corporations class in law school.

I'm in.

None of them knew the color of the sky. Their eyes glanced level, and
were fastened upon the waves that swept toward them. These waves were of
the hue of slate, save for the tops, which were of foaming white, and
all of the men knew the colors of the sea. The horizon narrowed and
widened, and dipped and rose, and at all times its edge was jagged with
waves that seemed thrust up in points like rocks. Many a man ought to
have a bath-tub larger than the boat which here rode upon the sea. These
waves were most wrongfully and barbarously abrupt and tall, and each
froth-top was a problem in small-boat navigation.

Stephen Crane
The Open Boat 1897

I am so in. I have one pen, but looking to expand.

The woods are lovely dark and deep, but I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep

Robert Frost-my all time favorite poem

Awesome PIF. Count me in.

"Quid est Veritas?"

"What is Truth?"

Asked of Jesus by Pontius Pilate, who then turned and walked away to declare he found no fault...
