PIF: Starter Fountain Pen and Ink

Congrats, Doug! I'll get that pocket pad of Rhodia out to you tomorrow.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to trying out the pen and the paper. Back in the 80s, when they were quite popular as somewhat of a status symbol, I was given a Mont Blanc pen as a gift. After ruining several really expensive dress shirts with leaky ink cartridges, I gave up on it as defective. Nobody could tell me how to fix it.

I'm quite ready to try again.

The Lamy came earlier this week and, since I am off work today, I finally had a chance to fill it and write a bit. I have some Crane's Kid Finish note paper and envelopes that I have had for years and it seemed to work fine.

My first effort was to write a thank you note to Chad which will go out in today's mail. I hope you are able to read it when it gets there. My handwriting is not the greatest anyway and, of course, this was something new and different so it is worse than usual. Now I get to practice to make it presentable.

Thanks for a great PIF. I'm sure I'll be back to The Nib for lots of advice.
