So the lower back pian is still there and the chest infection came back and bit me on the bum again, so been out the gym for a few weeks again. But this week I'd thought I'd give it ago but only slowly. So both Thursday and Friday I went with

Thursday, shoulders
15k steps
15mins cardio on the spin bike
Weights of 30kg down to 10kg.
Shrugs
Shoulder presses
Upright rows
Lateral raises

Friday, arms
20k steps
15mins spin bike
Weights, 30kg down to 5kg
Concentration dumbbell curls, R&L
Dumbbell kickbacks
Barbell curls
Barbell kick backs.

So next day off I'm going for that difficult conversation with my GP. The one where I tell him to do more than keep me on pain killers for my back pain and lets see whats going on.

Stationary bike--moderate 60 minute ride. Upper body strength training. Stretching for 30 minutes.

P.S. I notice that a number of my fellow Old Fogies stretch regularly. Do you have a stretch plan that you use? I use a 30-minute full-body stretching routine from a Physical Therapy book:Stretching for Functional Flexibility by Phil Armiger. I try to do this every day, at least most of it.
