You're stuck with me, Thom. My condolences.Yeah, please stay visible, Eric. We don’t want to lose you. Or send Kim off to the jungles of Minnesota or Borneo searching for wood carvings in your likeness.

ARKO! is a wonderful soap indeed! I get/got mine from the local Turkish supermarket. Steep price increase since 2024. They used to be €.95 but today €1.29 - at that price and lathering qualities it is a total no brainer.Where do you fine gents get your ARKO! pucks?
I'll have to try that, Guido.Combining Tabac and Arko into Tabarko may have resulted in my forever soap (I will admit that I have used a Tallowbac version).
I'm sorry you're going through this, my friend. I hope it all gets resolved ASAP.Welp, the roof leak was even worse today. Had to put out additional cups and had to move some furniture. Got the usual “we can’t do anything while it’s raining” crap again from the maintenance guy. Well, how about a bucket in the attic under the hole? I’d do it myself if it wasn’t locked. What a fun day.

Thanks. The joy of renting. Houses cost too damn much here that I’m priced out. $389,000 for a 1400 sq ft one-story in need of remodeling. Fun times.I'm sorry you're going through this, my friend. I hope it all gets resolved ASAP.

Vinegar, but that doesn’t take the spots out, either. Would citric acid work differently? It could be soap scum. Do you have any citric acid?
The black dots look like stain in the fiber. Very weird. They’d probably work similar, but citric acid would be less vinegar scented. I’d think it would loosen the black dots enough that they may be combed off, but I’ve never had it happen to my synth brushes.
Boo Hiss in the extreme, Jay...Welp, the roof leak was even worse today. Had to put out additional cups and had to move some furniture. I noticed it today while cleaning up my bathroom space. The brush works the same, but I really want to know what it is. Maybe it’s my hard water. That’s a weird one and it’s not nothing. How do you get that examined and it does it affect anything other than futzing with brushes?
That hasn't happened with any of my brushes so far. I used the same synthetic brush for over a year in Nashville where the water is pretty hard but I never saw any black spots on my brush.I assume it’s hard water, but I have that and my brushes aren’t discolored with scary spots.
