I’ve had some really good golden stouts so I was cautiously optimistic about this when I saw it (even though I’m not a Karl Strauss fan).
This was kindof disappointing though. Has a nice coffee/cocoa nose but the taste and mouthfeel past that were underwhelming.

Enjoyed a "post last day of work before the holidays" pint by myself at Union 32 Crafthouse...
Black Forest, a nitro stout by Shakopee Brewing. Sessionable at 4.2%, nice, roasty quality, with a surprising "sparkly" carbonation that I really didn't expect from a nitro. Quenched my thirst, went down well.

Early Christmas get together tonight. This was the mainstay brew...
Aecht Schlenkerla Fiche Dopplebock. Used it to wash down my rib roast from the steak vending machine around the corner.

How do you like it compared to the regular one?
A little but more. It’s darker and maltier, and that hits the sweet spot for me!

I well and truly messed up the pour on this one 
Nice beer nonetheless, Wheat/Oats/Barley and not overly hoppy for a Tripel. 8.4% yet not a boozy one.

Must be the bottle fermentation.
Goose Island 2022 Bourbon County Brand Stout
It was part of my Christmas present last year and I shared it with my BFF (son-in-law) because if I enjoy the whole bottle I have trouble walking straight afterward.
Usually winter means Stouts and Porters for me, but I picked up a load of fruitier beers on a whim at the weekend. Trying out a Peach IPA tonight from a local brewery. Very nice!
I happened to be in the area of one of the only breweries with cask beer in LA (Project Barley Square, formerly Yorkshire Square) so I had to stop in for a few. This was the Early Doors pub bitter
