An unusual Culmak shaving brush dryer

I smell like a Christmas pudding
Here is an unusual plastic shaving brush dryer from Culmak, I would guess this is 1970s. I am not certain how this is used but perhaps you could use the three prongs to 'comb' the bristles after use and then stand the brush upright, bristles downwards, on the prongs for drying. I cannot think why there is a lid or what the inner cavity is for - it does not appear large enough to invert the prongs and store them inside between uses. Could it be a soap or lathering bowl with the brush dryer integrated into the lid? The bowl looks too small for that to my eye. Has anyone seen one of these before?

I think you're probably right about it being a lathering bowl, but made to be used with smaller brushes than we typically use today. Or perhaps just a place to set the brush during the shave? That notch in the side could be a place for the brush handle to rest. Odd, though. I guess that those prongs improve air circulation and keep the brush in place?

Fifteen quids?? and no bids?? hell if Rupert post to AU i would buy it just for the oddity value.

Hay, ask Rupert if he has seen a "Shaving Accelerator" ?????
