All things shaving in Atlanta, Georgia

I live in Atl and you must hit up The Varsity. The orange creamsicle is good.

If you are flying in, they have a L'Occitane in concourse A 27. I always hit that store up.

Sweetwater 420 is a beer place and their are tons of cool little places around their

Man, there's a great BBQ place near Lithia Springs.

It's in Austell.

Good luck. And if you find yourself in the Ga Tech/Atlantic Station area, be careful after dark. I'm sure the GA tech fans here would agree with me.

Atlanta Barber Supply is downtown on Mitchell St. and you could stock up on some things. It would be difficult to navigate that area if you are not familiar with Atlanta, and I'd call ahead if I decided to go.

McBerrien Barbershop in Decatur is one of my favorites, but whether it's worth a drive from Lithia Springs is another question. Hope you have a great time, and be sure to exercise due caution at night if you are out alone.

No doubt about watching yourself in some of the Atlanta neighborhoods after dark - some of them during the day.

Glad to see some barbecue recommendations. I'm from the Carolinas and take my barbecue seriously - haven't found anyplace inside the perimeter that I'm enthusiastic about - there's some good q but I haven't found any great q in the city. Will have to venture outside the perimeter sometime and sample.

I'll politely disagree with some previous comments. I can't imagine coming to Atlanta _for_ pizza but if you want pizza Fellini's and Mellow Mushroom are pretty safe bets and there's probably one close to where you are. But if you want to step it up a notch I'd suggest (in increasing order of greatness):

Flying Biscuit was one of my favorite spots when it opened - especially when they didn't have a liquor license and I could bring my own wine. I haven't been there much since they were bought out by the Moe's folks - don't know how much corporate ownership has changed them and I haven't been to any of the franchise locations so I'm reluctant to recommend them. The original location is the one in Candler Park, if you were going to go there hit that one:

The Varsity is a must if you want fast food:

If we're going there, I'd be remiss to leave out Waffle House:

A fixture around the south and spreading - some freeway exits have multiple Waffle House locations. The Waffle House museum is going to be open to the public on April 11, FWIW:

Hope you enjoy your stay in Atlanta. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. I'm a native Atlantan only by marriage but I've been here for thirty years so I'm starting to blend in.

Go Jackets.
