So, what are you going to do in case of TEOTWAWKI? Suffer?
In that long a time, I'll probably get up the nerve to try a straight.
I have commitment problems. Can't see ever doing that. Too many good blades to stick with one for life.
Great buy! I've a 100 of them. They're pretty under rated around here. I am using a dorco 301 in a razorock mission since last two shaves and find them very sharp and smooth.
You should get on with a straight earlier than later. Its not very difficult and scary and the shaves off a good sharp edge are fantastic. I am badly hooked by the weekend straight shaves. I've a few good vintage straights from whipped dog as well as ebay honed by Larry. I've also honed a gold dollar 66 myself. Very satisifed!
I don't think I'll ever go for 1,000. I bought 100 med preps and before I had used 25, I discovered 7OCs seemed smoother. I'll probably buy 100 of those, and find another I like better before I get much further with them

I don't need one thousand blades. I get good mileage on my blades. Twenty blades last me quite a while.

I have done 100-pack orders on Astra, Personna, Gillette Silver Blue, and an 84-pack on Gillette 7 OC blacks. I just don't see me needing 1,000 of any one brand that I currently favor. I typically use a blade a week or 50-60 per year so 1,000 blades would last me 20 years.

i have 4000 voskhods still after selling off 36,000 of them 
yes.. i had 40,000 at one point. and not selling anymore of them. i ordered them by the case when i got a ridiculous deal on them by the case. i have over 1200 polsilver si's, 1000 labs, 1000 gsb, 900 yellows, among a whole bunch of others.

some of my voskhods and a handful of the other blades. i could probably fill up 3 of this box by now. ill have to take some new pics these are from back in i think march or so. there are a ton of blades not even shown here at all like personna israel, nacet, bolzano, kai etc etc

I have 1000 Voskhod 800 gillette yellows and 1000 mixed blades
I also had commitment issues as well with purchasing a lot of blades mostly because I was still searching for my right blade I really like the 7 o'clock yellow and the voskhod found a good deal on the voskhod blades on ebay and made my first 100 blade purchase now just waiting for them to arrive from Russia

no i buy them direct from the distributor in the usa.
I reckon I'm close to 1000 blades in all, but no more than 200 of any 1 brand (those being Astras).
I doubt I'll ever make a 1000 blade purchase of any 1 brand. I'm simply not capable of that kind of DE fidelity.
