The Feather Popular was an impulse buy. With regret, I must admit that the experiment was unsuccessful: in three passes, I was unable to shave close enough--just couldn't get the stubborn patches under my jawline. Resorted to my favorite Gillette for an additional pass plus touch-ups. Oh well, may try it again, or use it as a travel razor.

Have been wet shaving for the past 13 month's and my mother just informed me that my papa always shaved with old spice mug and soap, along with a gillette TTO and old spice aftershave. So in honor my Papa, I picked up some VDH deluxe for my old spice mug that I have yet to use and some old spice aftershave and my Fatboy.

A lot of first for the second day in a row !!!!! all positive I like the direction today's shave took me.

Pre: hot shower w/ AL glycolic cleanser
after shower : Corn huskers lotion to the face and rubbed into stubble then allowed to get tacky
Soap: Speick

Bottom line today's shave was great it was the first time I had ever used speick before I bought the soap and had gotten a PIF of a bit of the AS from another member a few weeks back so today was my first time using either product. I really like the smell of this soap I want to guess and I could be wrong this is probably along the lines of like Lilac Vegetal you either love the smell or hate it. I found it very herbal almost medicinal but like a apothecary type of natural homeopathic type medicinal smell to it. It lathered great just enough to comfortably do 3 passes but that was me I should have loaded a bit more I think as I like to have a bit extra and a thicker ATG pass. The Speick AS that was interesting again the AS followed the same smell as the soap but what surprised me was it was like going to the doctor for a shot it..... it stung for a quick like split second then felt cooling and refreshing..... it was like "Ouch" !!! "ohhhh" in like a split second. both are great and left my face feeling super smooth and moisturized. Lastly the fact I have had 5 smooth shaves of the same Feather blade kind of surprises me....should I chance #6 and keep in mind this is daily use. Maybe others have had the same experience but I am just surprised that's all.
