Last night’s smoothish shave
Henson AL13+
7 O’Clock Permasharp (1)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
Ω 10048 28mm boar brush
Pre-shave: face wash with shave soap
Lather: Canada Shaving Soap, palm-lathered
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: lukewarm shower :001_wub: and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

Tried a new blade and tried washing my face only once. Comfort was still there, but closeness suggested I need to get used to the new bevel. Pleasant enough.

The palm lathering with my piggy has accelerated its breaking in and the brush I thought was almost done breaking in has just barely started its grand journey.

The slow-motion hundred pairs of sumō/shiko leg lifts Friday and bopping around cleaning gutters on Saturday had my upper shins feeling worrisome, so I pondered doing another hundred pairs of slow-motion sumō chicanery and thought of this guy:

Opted to sway idiotically for an hour instead. Shins were impressed with my prudence.

Happy shaves, everyone!

Last night’s cap-riding shave
Gillette post-war Tech on PAA el Fantasma handle
7 O’Clock Permasharp (2)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
Ω 10048 28mm boar brush
Pre-shave: face wash with shave soap x2
Lather: ARKO!, palm-lathered
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: lukewarm shower :001_wub: and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

What an efficiency boost going from the cap of a Henson to a Tech! This is the mild Tech, too. Whoo! Only needed buffing to get the whiskers on the bottom of the chin bone. I was not used to how little pressure was needed elsewhere. Scary, but better than when I can’t make the Tech work.

Got a half hour of idiotically swaying in the books. Also tried adding a no sugar added yogurt and a small bowl of grapes to my diet last night. This morning, my blood meter accused me of eating several kilograms of pure glucose. Fixable, though.

Happy shaves, everyone!

I had not noticed that you were also using the 7OC Permasharp. It's a winner and I am surprised it isn't more popular.

Edit: Russian is better for longevity for sure, but that "fresh from the pack" performance is pretty close for me between RU and IN.

Yep, for buyers in countries without purchasing restrictions, it's a best buy. I got a bunch off eBay from an Indian seller for roughly 7 cents a piece. The 7 o'clock Permasharp Stainless was tested to be less durable, but I have no issues getting a week of shaves per blade myself.

Gillette post-war Tech on PAA el Fantasma handle
7 O’Clock Permasharp (3)

AP ShaveCo Cashmere 30mm synthetic brush
Pre-shave: face wash with shave soap x2
Lather: Canada Shaving Soap, palm-lathered
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: lukewarm shower :001_wub: and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin

My piggy brush was soaking in a cup of hot water when I decided I wasn’t in for the fuss and just used my Cashmere brush instead. Lather was so easy to make and so perfect, it’s only Stockholm Syndrome keeping the 10048 out of the trash for now.

The shave showed the razor paid no attention to my pretense of using less pressure. Rough. Very timely and close. New blade for next time and new hopes, too.

Happy shaves, everyone!

Just over fourteen hours post shave and there’s a lot to like about the post-war Tech, but my hands and nervous system added undesirable elements. The Henson AL13+ is slower for me and I’m more likely to curl some stubble back, but it protects my skin from me.

why change a winning team, right?

Ever have read a rhetorical answer addressed to someone else and have to fight the urge to post your hypothetical answer?

Tonight’s zippy shave
RazoRock Mamba 0.53
7 O’Clock Permasharp (1)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
AP ShaveCo Cashmere 30mm synthetic brush
Pre-shave: applying warm lather
Lather: Canada Shaving Soap, face-lathered
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: lukewarm shower :001_wub: and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

A few shave soap face washes would’ve been better prep than loading the brush and adding water to it as I lathered. The Mamba; with a rare and enjoyable appearance by the RazoRock UFO handle; whipped all over my neck and face at every angle. Did a second pass on my jawline. Feel overshaved on my jawline and upper lip. Palm or face lathering, the AP ShaveCo Cashmere is a gentle lather cannon.

Did some weird, nigh-isometric exercises that weren’t swaying, but were idiotic.

Happy shaves, everyone!

Our experiences agree. This blade does not like to be asked too much. It starts off cooperative and amendable, but soon becomes grouchy and prone to scratch. If anything, it is this one and not the 7OC black which is the "Indian Feather".
