Shower-n-Shave

Shower shaver here too, but I don't use any soaps or lathering creams, much less a brush. Going soapless is the only way I can shave every day. I only have about 12 to 15 minutes of hot water to shampoo my hair, lather up the exfoliating towel to scrub my face and body and then shave lastly, so I have to be efficient with my time. There's one other way in which I differ from probably every shower shaver here too, because when it comes to the final rinse, I massage my face with hot water. Well, not scalding hot, but pretty warm. To my skin, warm water is infinitely more soothing than the shocking sensation of cold water.

This gives me a virtually flawless BBS day in and day out, zero irritation or drying and rarely a nick, so clearly I've stumbled onto something with this regimen.

You shave with no product whatsoever on your face? Wow.

For those that shave in the shower...do you use any pre-shave product?

I just wash my face with Musgo Real Glycerine Lime Oil Soap (Mr GLO), but I rinse it off before I start to lather and shave. Do you guys use any pre-shave oil or gel (or anything else) to leave on your face while you lather?

I really like the Musgo Real Glycerine soaps too and use them as well as Neutrogena glycerine soaps, which I think are the equal of Musgo, sans scent. Most of the time I'll also use Jojoba oil as a pre shave although I admit that may be gilding the lily a bit.

lol no, sorry I forgot to mention my shaving products. My standard weapon of choice is shave jelly from Essential Wholesale, with occasional experimenting with other non-lathering products. Right now I'm using Gornik & Drucker and before that, I was using Rasoline.

Whew! At first I thought you were one tough, and crazy, SOB.

One of the downsides of having a small shower is the angles I'm unable to see since I don't shave my whole beard off. I wanted to love shaving in the shower but it become more of a chore than anything because of the size of my shower.

Yup, a bigger shower area is a blessing. I've tried to shower on vacation in those little corner ones and I run into the same issue so there I use the sink.
