Key words: "at the moment"!I'm at 38 at the moment.... well, after this next three get here.
This will be my standard post regarding the tariff discussions:They're not good. Any economist worth their salt will tell you the same thing. The tariffs being levied now are being done by an idiot who knows absolutely nothing about global economics or economics in general.
Well said David! This will be my standard post regarding the tariff discussions:
"Gentlemen, This is an evolving situation. Trump is, first and foremost, a negotiator. I'll be greatly surprised if this situation remains the same 30 - 60 days or so from now (if that long).
The sun will still rise in the morning and set at night. In other words, relax, kick back, and don't let this get your ulcers riled up."
Me too!... the worst part is I would totally rent a razor before I bought it.
Thousands? Wow!Aha, you see, it is a possibly viable business venture!!
In all seriousness though, I've got nothing compared to others here. I still haven't broke 100 (and don't plan on it), but some here have hundreds and even thousands of razors.
I'm still in rookie status when it comes to that!
You're not kidding:Use it to justify impulse buying like we do with every bit of good or bad news we read
I've never seen pictures but have read some posts of some here that claim that many!Thousands? Wow!
The Blackbird does have a lot of face feel, but I'm not sure the SB has more than the OC. For me, I find the teeth of the OC a bit edgy, and they increase the overall face feel during the shave. I'll probably send my OC TiBird in for the polishing treatment some day to deal with that edginess.I shaved tonight with the satin Blackbird SB and used a Lab Blue blade.
It had been a while since I used it!
I also used some The Art Of Shaving Lavender shaving cream that I believe I had never used.
I got a small tube a while back from Amazon when they had them on sale. I wanted to try AOS
products and this was the way since they're ridiculously expensive. Anyways, It was good but
not any better that would justify their high prices. I'll stick to my usuals!
Today I noticed a few peculiarities with the Blackbird:
1. During the shave (and post shave), it feels like it's not only shaving but it's also exfoliating.
I think it's the only razor I have that gives that particular feel (in such an obvious way!)
2. Every time you make a pass and rinse, I see more hair wash off than with any other razor.
3. Despite all of this, efficiency is excellent but pretty equal to other smoother razors that I own.
(The Blackbird isn't really the smoothest).
Am I the only one that sees these things? Weird!
It's no doubt an excellent razor but I wouldn't ever be able to use it daily. I don't feel irritation but know that
with repeating days it would make me feel some rawness.
Something that's also strange, the OC is supposedly more aggressive but I don't feel it that way
and enjoy it more. It's my favorite Blackbird configuration!
The 3 things above don't occur with the OC, Weird again!
Tomorrow I had scheduled the Blutt 1.20 but decided to use the OC Blackbird to revisit it and compare
it. And it will be interesting since it's mega efficient and will only tackle one day of growth after
using the SB tonight.
I'll follow up tomorrow night!!
Speaking of shaving creams up above, I forgot to mention that I ordered two Cyril R. Salter shaving creams:
French Vetiver & Indian Sandalwood. I've heard they're very good creams and the prices are pretty decent.
And I also ordered a puck of Haslinger Schafmilch shaving soap. Another one that I've heard is really good!

Sounds like my experience with both the BB & Blutt. I like both, just different! The Blackbird does have a lot of face feel, but I'm not sure the SB has more than the OC. For me, I find the teeth of the OC a bit edgy, and they increase the overall face feel during the shave. I'll probably send my OC TiBird in for the polishing treatment some day to deal with that edginess.
Post shave feel between the SB and OC Blackbird is similar for me. Efficiency is quite good for both of them.
Between the Blutt and the Blackbird...Very different razors...The Blutt has no blade flex at all, being a well engineered and manufactured edge clamper with an effective guard. I almost always get a smooth and efficient shave with the Blutt 1.20, with just enough face feel to guide me with angular alignment. The Blackbird feels a bit more "wild, wild, west" during the shave. If the angle is off (too shallow), there is not enough slickness or I'm applying too much pressure, I can feel the razor and blade tell me..."fix that". It doesn't usually nick me, but the blade seems to flex downward, away from the shaving plane (approaching a neutral exposure), which is quite noticeable, but not impactful (unless I really screw up).
Both razors give me an excellent shave. The Blutt is a touch tamer, the Blackbird a bit more efficient. I don't use ANY razor as a daily driver (because I enjoy shaking things up every day), but I have tried going multiple days with both. The Blackbird required more restraint each day, when used for more than three days in a row.
