I'm going to end RAD by giving into it. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

I've been eyeing an Atelier Durdan Le Maurice for a while. It's been on my mind as I try various other razors to determine what I like, thinking that it would incur less cost in the long run to try a variety of cheaper razors first. I'm at the point now that I think that further experimentation would land me further in the red. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

So I've ordered Le Maurice in machined stainless with both 1.4 and 1.6 plates, both grooved. If I don't like it, I'll sell them at a loss and just keep using the zamak AX heads. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

I love my Le Maurice. Very elegant razor.

3 days growth (gave my head an extra day to heal after Monday's massacre)

Score: 3 - comfortable and efficient

Surprisingly good shave from a blade I didn't expect great things of.

More touchups were required than I would typically award a 3, but I'm attributing that to the extra day of growth. The 1.55 likely would have reduced any need for touchups, but I chose the 1.35 specifically because it would be more gentle under the circumstances.

Also a bit of post-shave irritation, which also typically would disqualify a 3. It went away once I moisturized.

So maybe with a bit of rose-colored bias I give it a 3 because overall I really enjoyed today's shave, while the previous couple of shaves I very much did not.

Tomorrow I'm finally going to attempt to face lather. I find myself torn between my two brushes - my G5B is better for building lather in a bowl, but my STF is better for applying lather to my head. So tomorrow I face lather with my STF.
