I have had both Athena and Ares. Athena is my preference for overall comfort and efficiency. Both are very nice, but the Athena won out for me. One of, if not the best ATG razor I’ve ever used.

I’ve sold all my Lamda razors as I’m on the list for a Ti Athena. This will be “the one” for me. The bronze is excellent, but I’ve become a Ti razor snob all of a sudden.

I don't doubt you'll be extremely happy with the TiThena.... I love mine, though as you know, I'm using it with a V2 marine bronze base plate at the moment.... Just because I love the sound... I'll try the full titanium Athena next time I use it.... I'm trying to follow Vintage April faithfully.... but I might deviate a bit during the months. <eg>

The Ares is outstanding in efficiency and comfort. There is some blade feel but, to me, it is more informative than harsh. It lets you know that all is working as it should. I had the Henson, it is a fine razor, but it isn't in the same ballpark as the Ares or Athena. I also have the Konsul. It is an excellent adjustable slant razor.

I love the Konsul. How would you describe the feel between the Konsul and the Athena / Ares?

I’m still not 100% - wish I could try both here in New Zealand first, but Im on the list for. TI Athena and TI Ares haha. Think I might buy the one that comes up first lol

I love the Konsul. How would you describe the feel between the Konsul and the Athena / Ares?

That is tough. It is hard to compare a slant adjustable to SB DE razors. The Konsul goes from very mild to very aggressive/efficient. The Athena is comfortable always and efficient. The Ares is more blade feel, efficient and a bit more aggressive. I know I am not helping here. All I can tell you is that you will be very satisfied with a Lambda. If you like more efficient razors, go with the Ares. More comfort, Athena.

Replied "I'll take it" to BST listing within an hour and was already several people down the list . Hopefully Theo makes a big enough batch based on the popularity here.

lol…it does keep me off of B&B a bit more than usual. I’m on the list for the matte Ti version so hoping to have one in the next few months anyway. I sold my SS and Bronze to make room for the Ti.
