I'm honestly surprised that dropping it could cause such a serious dent. But nice to hear that you're getting a free replacement.

If you notice, the top cap tends to be quite thin as you get to the edges of it. Muprhy's law says that when you drop it, a corner will be the first point to hit the ground.
And that damn Murphy messed with my damn fingers! Lesson learned though and it won't happen again. It is cleaned and dried on a flat surface and not over the sink.
On for an Ares now.
Our last copper Athena leaves today for her lucky owner!

First shave update (a rather short one):
I used one of the Astor blades that came with the razor. The blade was Tugging so hard on my 1 day stubble that I had to change it after the first pass. Even the 4 days old Gillette SB (a quick loading from my Aristocrat hanging in the stand in front) was smoother and more efficient on the second pass. I’ll try a new GSB next and update.
I had a tuck of 5 that came with my first Athena... 2 out of the 5 were ummmm let's just say "unusable"... and leave it at that... The other 3 gave me stellar shaves. I got a bunch of them before I ran into the 2 duds out of 5... I sure hope that ratio is an anomaly.... That's a 40% dud rate... Unacceptable, for sure.
Ok, now I believe I can give a proper feedback!
Used a new Gillette SB for today’s morning shave. I would divide my feedback into two (well, three) parts-
Feel: blade-feel and feedback wise, this razor manages to squeeze itself in the sweet spot between the ‘nothingness’ of English Aristocrat Gen-4 and the slightly more pronounced feel of the (same razor) Gen-3… for me, the kinda ‘holy grail’ spot for blade feel, feedback, aggressiveness.
Efficiency: with the new GSB, this razor delivered (for me) the smoothest, least irritating, most satisfying standard 2 pass DFS (or should I say near BBS!?) with near zero feedback to the alum block.
Bottom line: with the risk of being (maybe a bit) too quick, I am strongly tempted to think “I’ve found my perfect razor”.
Another top 5 with 2nd use 7 O’Clock Black. DE

I left the safety and comfort of using the Overlander today and took the Athena out for a spin. The shave was excellent, very close with no drama.
It was a three pass shave of 2 days stubble. It was removed in style, using ART disguised as a razor. It is a lovely creation.
This was a great way to start the weekend!
