What's new

Issues finding soaps.

i'm also from Canada (Ottawa) and i was pleased to find 2 shaving soaps at my walmart, there is a wilkinson sword for about $3.50 at 125g and a williams shave soap for about $1.60 at 50g, i think the scent of the williams is sandlewood.. i'm new to wetshaving and i could be wrong about the scent
You can also get Proraso at Shoppers Drug Mart (at least in and around Toronto) for about $7-8 for the 150g tube/tub.

I've been going with the proraso white tub from Shoppers. I have very limited experience with soaps but I like it and it's local so if I ever run out or are in a pinch, I can find a shoppers and get some.

I love a good shaving soap and my favorite is from eShave with a shaving brush. you can get a soap with a bowl for $28 ($18 refill). i've had mine for 5 months now and there's plenty left. i recommend the avocado oil & linden

I used Williams for years and agree it is not top notch. I now basically only use the following and am very pleased with the quality and price:

Mama Bears Soaps

Saint Charles Shave

Ogallala Bay Rum

I am too lazy to post the links, but you can just Google them.

Some reasonably priced, high performance stuff...

[*]Arko!

For the price this stuff is just top notch!
Also I tried Cella for the first time today and WOW! GREAT Stuff!!!

I had meant to mention it earlier, but you should also look into Gentlemens Best "Signature Series" Shaving Soap.
Simply amazing stuff.

I love this stuff too. I have both a puck and the shave stick. Great either way!

Buying a puck of Mitchells Wool Fat is still cheaper than buying Edge Gel.

The MWF will last 4-5 times longer than a can of Edge Gel. Moreover, the MWF is a highly regarded soap that many people consider the best.

FragranceX has the Tabac soap for pretty cheap and free shipping...

Ya I know but Rasage poulin has good deals aswell.
Its just the shipping that causes my erectile dysfunction... haha

I'll wait to buy a few soaps at once to maximize profit.

Fragrancex has Tabac refills for $10.99, and you get free shipping (regardless of order size) with the coupon code "FREE".

+1 on MWF from Wingham Wool Works. I got my $10-shipped refill puck from them, and it's working great.

Oh, and +1*10^26 on the Queen Charlotte--their soap (hard cream, really) is excellent, easy to lather, and great to use. It's my go-to everyday stuff at this point.

This coupon, is it continuous or a one-time only promotion?

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but there is a box pass in Canada full of shaving soaps and whatnot so you can try out some new products. Two pucks of VanDerHagen and a puck of Tabac have recently been added to it so you can try those two if you get to it on it in time. I know those are kind of expensive in Canada compared to here. If anything though just join to try some stuff out.

Yes, I know of this but I am not ready to join because, at the moment, I cannot afford to contribute to that box, financially and experience wise (i'm not planning on putting a proraso tube - too plain).

Thanks for the intel. Cheers gents.
