Anyone ever try Creed Irish Tweed?

Imagine someone asking if anyone has tried Guerlain Vetiver and I post "the entire house of Guerlain is overrated".

Since when does a single product represent an entire company?

Yeah- the Creed haters are coming out.

Could be worse. Imagine if he asked if anyone had tried Kouros or Yatagan.

From one borderline eurotrash clothes wearing B&Ber to another: Those are fighting words.

You do have a point. I've never met any other guy that actually wears either of them. My roommate and I went to joint in Scottsdale called Centro Paninoteca (awesome place for those in the AZ) and before we left he asked me if he could borrow a frag so I handed him the Kouros. He cursed me all night.

I don't recall the OP asking if Creed was "overrated", just if anyone had tried Green Irish Tweed by Creed.

Am I missing something here? :confused1
I would think that by asking if "anyone had tried Green Irish Tweed by Creed", the OP is implying that he'd like some opinions, other information, or a discussion of GIT. Otherwise, the responses should all be one word "yes" or "no" and a simple poll would have been better .

Handed him the Kouros?!

Good one.

Yah, I can be a bastard sometimes. Last time he asked me for a frag I handed him Cool Water and of course he swooned and sang the Cool Water praises. The only stuff he's ever used is Axe. I'm trying to get him to change slowly but surely. I think he expected Cool Water II and instead received Blast O'Civet.

Now it's a must you hand him Yatagan next time you go out, after assuring him it's NOT Kouros again.

Not worth the price for a synthetic scent. Most modern Creed scents are not the quality they used to be. I sold all my Creed scents some time ago. I prefer MPG and L'Artisan houses.

If you have a Neiman Marcus locally, I would pay them a visit and try it for yourself. GIT isn't a fragrance that's likely offend anyone, but the price tag alone puts it in the "try before you buy" category, IMO. I don't hate Creed's Green Irish Tweed, but it just didn't make enough of an impression on me to justify spending the $ on it. After sampling it, YOU may find it's well worth the price - but if you have the opportunity to try before you buy, I advise that you take advantage of it.

My sentiments exactly. Nice, well rounded and very pleasant scent. For me though, nothing to write home about (or spend top dollar on).

You can buy a Creed sampler that includes 5 1ml samples from Perfumed Court for $20.

I was hesitant to try GIT because of its popularity but I have to admit that it's one of my favorites and I'm tempted to buy.

Is GIT a good all year fragrance?

A quality cologne and if you appreciate the green forest scents then you will love it. I appreciate it and like it. At that price, I don't love it enough nor would I at a lower cost. It's just not what I look for in a scent.

Just like everything, I think you should definitely give it a try! I have it sampled it in depth and rather enjoy it. For me though, I prefer Creed Green Valley. It has very similar notes to GIT, but it has a bit of some blackcurrant and other sweet notes that give it something a bit more unique. If I were to pay that sum of money, I want something that smells unique. I think those small differences really makes the scent worthwhile.

Please do sample though!! It is really worth the small fee.

Creed Green Valley really does look interesting . . . simple note structure, a touch of ginger in there, . . it's apparently the only Creed that is solely offered in the 4 oz bottle . . . in a weird way I can't help but think that Creed is quietly hinting that Green Valley is their most exclusive men's scent - you can't get a better value on it by buying an 8.4 oz flacon, and you can't let yourself get ripped off with a 1 oz travel-size either. you're paying $250 for GV if you buy from Creed directly, whether you like it or not . . .

also it's a lot less popular than GIT. so it has that going for it.

I don't mean to derail the thread, GIT really is a delightful scent. It really can be worn all year round and is very appealing. My personal thinking is that if you will pay that much for a cologne, I would like something unique. I found Green Valley to be similar, but it is really more unique in my eyes, which warranted a purchase. If you are interested, do get a decant from The Perfumed Court. Heck, get a decant of both GIT and GV and wear them both. That should really help you settle your mind!
