Suggested Soaps based on Colognes (Homages)

oooh, was going to ask if there’s any dupe of Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey… and there is. Razorock - For Chicago., hang on there’s 5 of them.

Curious if there’s any perfume close to SV Morado, which is wonderful.

ps just checked… i do use Razorock Dead Sea… not as great as SV Argania or Morado… BUT the RR For Chicago has tallow, shea butter, argan oil, aloe vera and lanolin. Great… now i’m going to have to get another soap.

Yaqi Issey Miyaki is a terrific soap and a nice dupe of L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme!

A Stirling fragrance that never gets mentioned in threads like this is Triumph. It's excellent. It's supposedly a take on Paco Rabanne Invictus, which I've never smelled. Invictus is usually categorized as a marine type fragrance, but Triumph smells more sparkle-champagne to me, with a masculine edge. It's strong, way stronger than another Stirling dupe like Sandpiper, which I also have and is practically unscented as far as I am concerned. Triumph doesn't shy away from its EdT pretensions.

I’m going to give Triumph a try. I’m also curious about their new Bonafide Scent. It’s based on Prada L’Homme, which I’m not familiar with.

Chicago sounds good. Gonna have to pick some up.

Enabling completed… order is in for Razorock For Chicago, and also Santa Maria del Fiore, because of its reputation and it’s in stock at Charmwise in Malaysia.

It’s based on Prada L’Homme

If it's faithful to the Prada, you'll need to be a fan of iris; many consider it "the lipstick note".

Prada, and Dior (until recently) have been using iris (sometimes listed as orris) as the signature note for most of their men's perfumes in the last decade.

To me it comes across as a crisp-white-shirt kind of dandiness. I have a full bottle of Prada L'Homme Intense & several of the iris-laden Diors: they all stand apart from most other fragrances from any other house.

Hi Acey, thank you for that. That's fascinating about Iris being known as the "lipstick" note. I also like your metaphor of a crisp-white-shirt kind of dandiness. I love the Stirling base so I might end up giving it a try. I just received a tub of Opulence Harbinger from HC&C, along with the splash and EDP. It comes across as a little sweet to my nose, and reminds me a bit of one of my wife's fragrances, but I still like it.

Well,

Stirling's Mediterranean Man is a reference to Creed Erolfa, which is one of my very favorite "dumb grab" perfumes (in mild weather, which I always have here in West LA). I'm about 40% thru a large bottle .. and with my collection, that's a statement.

The Creed jus is citrusy, briny, & "alive" from ambergris; Stirling does a good job with it.

is this one still available? Is there any Canadian sites that sell it?

Just for fun I put my favorite soaps into a spreadsheet. The ratings are purely subjective, as are the lather scores. YMMV.

awesome! Ty! This will come in handy when I wish to order as I love Stirling soaps. been checking out RR soaps too!

order is in for Razorock For Chicago
Please let us know how good it smells and how it performs! I might buy one someday.

My order is in for Chicago from Razorock

Also, I recently picked up the soap, splash and EDP of Opulence Harbinger from HC&C. It's based on Valentino Uomo's Born in Roma Intense. I love it (and so does my wife). Sweet and floral with complexity and depth. Perfect for date nights.

@CaptKirk1988: I don't know about availability in Canada. Looking at the home page from here in the U.S.A., they are down to 1 oz. sample pucks. But lots of online outlets carry Stirling.

Oh look! One of my go to places has it!
Ty again @LexLexington !

Does anyone know if oud sigma is a stirling remake of Agar from Stirling soap co?

I noticed top of the chain has oud sigma in shave soap form.

Bummer. I’d have love to try this one. Is there anyone (stores) who may still have in stock? Preferably sites online in Canada?

I like polo red. But I never tried “intense”. So I might like this one. Is it still available? If not widely available, are there any Canadian sites/stores that do have it?

Stirling does ship internationally but unfortunately Red Eye is now only available in the edt.

No, it's a take on Polo Supreme Oud. Not very similar to Agar. I have both.
Oh. Ok ty I might try it someday. Thank you for clarifying.

Ty. I’ll have to try that someday. it’s a pain buying from the usa sometimes. The exchange rate and the taxes and duties. among other issues this side of the border on my end. So I usually buy from TotC, etc.
