ROCKWELL Razor - Consider this BEFORE buying a Rockwell!!!

I've also had problems with the Rockwell 6S. I tend to rinse, dry, and reassemble my razors. I take good care of them. With the Rockwell 6S, one day I accidentally got a drop of water on the head, and two or three days later, it was rusting at that point. It was clearly rust, and it's never happened to me with any other stainless steel razor. I had to scrub with a little white vinegar until the rust came off. I don't think it's 316L stainless steel, or it's mixed, but it rusts. You can test it by putting a drop of water somewhere and waiting a few days. It's durable, but it will rust.

I own most of Razorocks stainless razors, and have had them for years. A couple of the heads have very minor water marks, but none of the razors have rust. I have many other brands of stainless razors and none of them have rusted, including a Rex Ambassador adjustable. My Rockwell 6C (Zamac with chrome coating) has not shown any rust in 6 years. I am glad you advertised your issues with Rockwell on this forum (and hopefully others)...since Rockwell should want the razor back to inspect it themselves...and they should give you a refund. They should want to fix a problem with their manufacturing or material choices, rather than to ignore it. I cannot believe they are treating a customer this way. We are a small community and the last thing any razor manufacturer needs is bad publicity from poor products and treating customers badly.

Rarely mentioned is the 2C. Chrome plated zinc alloy. I've never seen any rust or corrosion. I prefer the shining finish. A plus was getting it on sale at Duluth Trading for 25 bucks. I bought a 4 plate. It goes through cycles of being my daily driver. But I need a break from it sometimes. For me it's weight is part of it's aggressiveness. So I go back to old reliable Muhle R89.

I have to retract my earlier, glowing praise for Rockwell. Sadly. I bought my razor last year, only months back, a 6S that was gold plated. I developed a rust problem on the thread of the head. I contacted Rockwell and finally got them to send a new head. The same rust issue developed again. The photos attached are AFTER I scrubbed and cleaned the thread so this is how it looked at best. I contacted them and said I would like to return the razor. 'a lifetime of smooth shaves' was part of their marketing slogan. I had lost faith, a razor I really intended to keep for life and eventually gift to someone else was rusty in months. Rockwell's reply? I'm not in the 60 day window for returns. This is true, I am probably about six months out or so. It does not negate the fact that the razor they made is poor quality and they stand behind it when convenient or when trying to sell more. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU CONSIDER THIS FEEDBACK BEFORE BUYING A ROCKWELL RAZOR. I should mention I have a gunmetal 6C that I quite like but the finish began to fade immediately once I began to use it.

As they say you are outside the 60 day window i would just keep returning it on their life time warranty at there expense . they may get feed up and offer a full refund instead after a few returns.

Pretty novel and cutting edge when introduced; fortunately, or otherwise, they have definitely been overtaken.

Classic designs are never obsolete
It dates back to 1930s France btw...
