yes, that really is a pineapple growing in my living room in New Jersey. smells fragrant and wonderful, too. it seemed thematically correct with my title, given the tropical setting of so many of Garcia Márquez's novels.
yes, I do own at least one scary shaving soap. no, I do not plan to use it this week. Arko is reserved for emergencies.

today, cella (not the least bit frightening to me)... the Colonel, vintage X2L simpsons ... a Gillette New SC head with a ball-end handle borrowed from a tech (let's see how this works -- first time trying the combo; the head came with a plastic handle) ... personna red ... and, with all this red, some myrsol f./extra will finish things off later this afternoon.

Soap: RazoRock XXX
Brush: Rubberset-400 replica with 24mm silvertip
Razor: Gillette Super-Adjustable (Black Beauty)
Blade: NOS Personna74 (4)

P74 blade is still going strong. It's acting like a brand new blade still. RR-XXX smells just like AdP to me, but I think the AdP is slightly better. Both are amazing.

XXX | STEALTH | GSB | 610

$sotdoct7.JPG

Wow, Just WOW! The stealth slant is fantastic. It is much lighter than my iKon DLC slant but heftier than I thought it would be. I assume it is lighter than the original version which some call the paperweight stealth. It is very easy to find the blade angle and maintain the angle as well. It does feel a bit milder than the iKon, yet the resulting shave was equally as close as far as I can tell 2+ hours later. I am hoping it is just a bit milder so that I can use it as a daily shaver. The fit and finish of the razor are simply stunning. The big disclaimer on the website when buying about machine marks etc should just be ignored as this thing is bada$$. I had to use a new GSB, which is my favorite blade, for my inaugural shave. Quite a combo if I do say so myself. Of course these are just my first impressions after my first shave so everything should be taken with a grain of salt. however I have used enough razors now to know that this is a winner.
The XXX and Thayer's Rose may have taken a backseat in this shave but were amazing as usual. The scent of XXX has grown enough on me that I think I may need to order another tub as I can see myself 3017ing it and the Zi'Peppino over the next couple months. The Thayer's Rose is magic for my skin....no idea why it just is. It makes my skin feel better than all of the other Witch Hazel I have(which are also awesome). I highly recommend trying it.

Cheers fellas and SHAVE ON!!!
