What's new

I love the look of the Duofold

The material that Parker called 'Laidtone'.
I want one. But not at the prices i'm finding them for. Anything else that has a material that looks like them, at a more affordable price?

Neat stuff. This is the material from the "DuoVac"?

Larry Sargle has a few pens that have that look I believe. dont the wasp pens have similar materials ? as well as a bumch of others, at least in look

Unfortunately, I don't have a Duofold, but that is definitely on my short list of things to look for when I go to the DC show in August.

From my collection, here's a couple of "Majestic" pens (a "third tier" U.S. manufacturer) that are somewhat similar in appearance. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. :thumbup1:

(The top pen has a very different nib...it's an untipped italic nib with two slits (three tines). It's very wet, super flexible, and is like writing with a paintbrush!)

I've got this 1941 DuoVac in "Sub-Deb" size with a gold Parker flex nib. It needs a new diaphragm but writes beautifully when I dipped it.
