Adding essential oil to unscented creams... good or bad idea?

My wife is into aroma therapy so she has a bunch of essential oils here in the house... So I was wondering about getting a tub of AOS unscented cream and scooping it into a mixing bowl adding my own blend of essential oils and and putting it back into its original container. Or maybe making a bunch of small batches of different scents and putting them in small travel containers.

Seems like a way to experiment with different scents and and be a bit frugal at the same time.

Any thoughts on this?

I think it sounds like a great idea and if using the EOs sparingly (as you should), it should work out nicely!

Some essential oils cause photosensitivity, and many are skin irritants if used too strongly. That being said, go for it! (I'm an amateur herbalist myself, and familiar with uses of several oils for both flavor and aroma use)

Go for it. I'd do the small batches since you're experimenting. You wouldn't want to ruin an entire tub of cream if your concoction somehow came out smelling like a dirty diaper.
