Zenith B33, like a fine wine?

I recieved this brush in the mail today, it's a copper handled Zenith b33. The diameter is 27.5mm and the loft is 57mm. I thought it might be interesting to start a thread to document how the copper ages as I use it.

This thread will mostly consist of shave of the day photos featuring the b33. Every once in a while I will do some close ups. For now, a quick break in period followed by its first use this evening. I was a bit impatient to get it's quick break in started so just a couple simple photos to document how it arrived.

First use, as promised, I'm surprised to say there is already some slight color change occurring. I think it may age faster than expected.

Great idea for a thread. Congrats on your new Zenith. I have 4 Zenith boars & think they are excellent brushes! I'll be watching this thread with interest.

I agree it is a great idea for a thread. While the discoloration of copper and other metals isn't my personal cup of tea, it is still interesting, and more so even if it is not my cup of tea, hearing others thoughts about it and whether they like it or not is enlightening to hear. I've had my mind changed by such discussions and people talking about their love of something. I have some copper mugs that I used for awhile, but couldn't stand this discoloration and now use them as display pieces after having polished them well and giving them a good buffing with Renaissance Wax.

I have a copper handled Zenith, and it aged to show a patina after the first use. This one is probably some 8/9 months old.

This handle is changing rather quickly, so I actually decided to include a quick close up this evening. Brush is about 30 hours old and has been used twice.

Yup, they change fast, I was pretty surprised at how fast mine changed. This brush has less than a dozen uses. I've never polished it, but I know it would come back to its original shine if I wanted. I keep the Charcoal Goods copper pretty shiny. I really like the beauty of brass and copper shaving kit. Zeniths are such great brushes. Great choice.

I have 2 Zenith Boars and 1 Zenith Manchurian, and a Zenith 50/50 Horse they are great brushes.

I love the look of aged copper. I actually looked into putting a copper roof on my house but the roof would be worth more then the house...

I’m also a sucker for tools that have been well used but are still perfectly functional. I think they look better then new.

This is a great idea for a thread.

Thanks, I was so impressed by my first Zenith boar that I decided a wanted another. I love reactive metals and I'm excited to see how this one will turn out!

Featuring the fat and my other Hydro-magic, the brush is trooping along. It's starting to feel much more broken in at this point, I am certain it's going to be fantastic when it's done.

I think I will include closer pictures of the brush on Sundays from here out. I honestly really struggled to pick a winner between these two razors, the injectomatic and Ti blackbird are both awesome!

Brush is about a week old now and it's been a part of 5 shaves. It's still changing quickly, but it has a long way to go yet as well.

The brush is starting to develop some nice purple tones. It's really getting broken in at this point and it makes lather like a champ.
