Whats a good 80 proof bourbon?

Don't limit yourself to just 80 proof. I would try Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare and Bulleit. All excellent and all can be found for about $20(all around 90 proof). I also like Woodford Reserve but its kinda expensive and not worth the extra moola.

If you're considering Dickel, I'd go with #12. It's much better.

I'd bump it to 90 proof and give yourself some options. If you are looking for smooth, Weller 12 is what comes to mind and at approx. $20.

I would recommend ignoring the alcohol content in general.

Jim Beam Black, however, is very drinkable and is 86 proof I believe.

I would recommend Buffalo Trace, George Dickel, and Evan Williams Bonded white label as very nice, affordable choices.

I cant believe no one mentioned this yet but Makers Mark is right around 80 proof and in the price range for a fifth.

2nd on the Makers Mark.
