What Brown leaf 'good stuff' are you waiting on to be delivered?

Another Falcon shigglywigglyferniggly stem (I told you I'd forget how to spell it). Black twisted frame with a plain silver centre tube this time. Looks good.

A smooth Falcon Bantam billiard bowl for short smokes.

150g of some house blend which was on offer. A Virginia Burley ribbon with a vanilla top. It's exceedingly rare to find anything on offer over here, let alone selling at 20-25% less than Gawith loose baccy, so I decided to nab some while I can. It may well be a little uninspiring, but almost certainly good enough for quick smokes, or mixing with Lacrapia blends to make 'em smokeable. It's got no Cavendish, so it definitely won't be a gloopy Sludgy McButtcrack blend.

Now, I'm waiting on two (2), tins of (10 cigars), Cuban H. Upmann Regalias Cigars (Mareva [Petit Corona]),...5⅛ x 42 ring…presented in stylish 5 cigar tins (one of the four cigars in Habanos S. A. Linea Retro Collection).

The tins of five cigars are an 70's elegant 'approach' and touch (I have both the Partagas Capitols, Romeo y Juliet Club Kings and Hoyo de Montertrey Souvenir de Luxe tins, but I'm still looking for that 'elusive' Punch Triunfos 5 pk cigar tin).

Ahhhhh...there as a time which would remind one of a golden age of cigar smoking, but also serves a very
practical traveling purpose (packaging reminiscent of that sold in the 70s).

BTW, ratings of these cigars should smoke for about 40-45 minutes and the tins will keep them (and any similar sticks you wish to replace them with afterwards) protected for far longer”. :thumbsup:

and..;

10 (ten), Cuban H. Romeo y Julieta Romeo No. 1 (TA), Cigars (Mareva [Petit Corona]),...5⅛ x 42 ring). :drool:

I've had to order a cheeky little stash bumper. :blushing:

My Virginia Periques were diminishing way ahead of schedule. I noticed earlier this evening, that I appear to have consumed over 20% of my stash in two years, :yikes: That pile was meant to remain quite steady until after I'd smoked up most of the aromatics and Lakelands. Overall, the stash was on the correct steady dwindle trajectory, but it turns out I had been "replenishing" the aromatics faster than I was smoking them, while the Periques rapidly diminished. Not good! :nono:

The stash bump is fairly modest, as I don't get much for my money over here these days, but it puts me more or less back on track.

Orlik Golden Slices have recently reappeared in the UK. They had disappeared off the market just before I took up the pipe, so I never got chance to try them before. I've heard them favourably spoken about many times, so I have nabbed a couple of tins, to be sure I get chance to try it. I figured they'd be a fairly safe bet, as the blend is so often likened to Solani 633, which I really enjoy. So much so, I added a couple of extra tins of 633 to the order too. Just those four tins (2 x Orlik, and 2 x Solani) gets me to free shipping these days :001_rolle but I added a fifth tin anyway. A tin of tin of Peterson Irish Cask (formally Irish Oak) will be tagging along with them.

The Irish Cask is an interesting choice, as it's not a blend I am particularly enamoured with. I tire of it very quickly. However, those Cavendish Perique blends, have proven (to my palate at least) to do a far better job of toning down an obnoxious level of Latakia or Orientals in a blend, than simple Virginias and Burleys alone. In fact, it's possibly that my Perique levels looked so damaged, because I had sacrificed what Irish Cask and Rattray's Dark Fragrant I had, toning down a few assorted Latakia blends for my outdoor smoking blend.

However it happened though, my figures were still off, and needed correcting.

This 200g of Periques, plus the 50g mixer, puts me back roughly where I should have been. I still need to mind my consumption rate though, to be sure I'm not smoking all the "aging stock" ahead of the "fresh". Also, each of those tins were JUST under my "no buy" price threshold. By pennies! The change left over from my price-ceiling for all 5 tins, would barely buy a loaf of bread. So I'm glad I spotted the deficiency when I did, otherwise I would have had to breach that ceiling just for layaways. I don't mind paying a little extra for smoking fresh, but it's too damn expensive to be buying tobaccos just to stuff in a cupboard for ageing.
