What's new

What am I missing?

Please help me formulate my next soap/cream purchases. I am putting together a post-sabbatical list and want to have a nice list in hand for my one or two weeks of purchasing time so I can join the sabbatical next year. Below is a list of the soaps I have either in rotation or have used in the past. What soaps are out there that I am missing. A few I am thinking of are MdC and Klar Kabinet (which may or may not be discontinued).

So, what say you? What are your favorites that I have never tried (ie..that aren't on the list below)?

I've been very happy with the new Barrister & Mann soaps that I've tried. Great performance and very moisturizing.

De Vergulde Hand soap (stick or puck) of course ... you may or may not like it, but you won't know until you tried.

I do like it.

Here are some soaps and creams that deserve to be tried:

Pré de Provence soap
Provence Santé Green Tea soap
Klar's Kabinett soap
Institute Karité soap
Cade soap
Gold Dachs soap
Dr. Dittmar soap
Edwin Jagger / Mühle Sandalwood soap
D.R. Harris Almond, Arlington, Marlborough, Windsor soaps
eShave Linden and Avocado soap
Truefitt & Hill 1805 cream
Geo F. Trumper Eucris cream
Taylor of Old Bond Street St. James cream
Taylor of Old Bond Street Mr. Taylor cream
Rose creams: T&H, GFT, TOBS, DRH, TRoB
Herbs of Bulgaria Lavender cream
Viking cream
Queen Charlotte Soaps Rose Otto soap
Mystic Water Lily of the Valley

I have only one in my post-sabbatical wish list:
St. Charles Soaps Rose soap

Cade, Dr. Dittmar, Haslinger Ewe's Milk (Schafsmilch) w/ Lanolin. If you enjoy lavender do yourself a favor and pick up some concentrated Dr. Selby cream. Great cream.... more like a soap but does not require nearly as much loading time as a soap. Other lavender favorites of mine are MdC (of course), Castle Forbes Lavender, and Mike's Hungarian Lavender. Barrister & Mann soaps are great as well.

Wait a minute ... you never tried Florena or Nivea? Both should be on your list as well, then. Apart from the De Vergulde Hand I already mentioned.

And here I thought I had a good chunk of the popular soaps already tested or used. Thanks for the great recommendations, everyone!

Keep 'em coming!!

Don't see Saint Charles Shave on the list. Or P.160. You can enter my PIF for a chance at either. :thumbup1:

If you win, there's instant gratification of an Sabbatical approved acquisition. And it frees up a few bucks at the end of the year for something else.

Also, if you like RazoRock, don't forget all the latest additions to that line of soaps. I'm hoping to score some soon for a first try.

How about:

Floris
Jabonman
Vintage Old Spice
Vintage Colgate
Vintage Williams (assuming the Williams you have tried wasn't vintage)
Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet Shaving Cream

Arko has a new tub, right? Not sure how to get it exactly, but could be worth a shot, just to know how it compares to the stick.

If you don't want to do that, I'll suggest trying some of Al's Shaving cream...the GoodFellas and Calypso (bay rum-ey) scents are my favorites, but there's a bunch of new stuff on his website I haven't tried yet too.
