I've been using the Jinhao Lamy copy for a couple of months as a fairly low risk work pen. So far I am on my third (I gifted the first two, they didn't break). So far they have been fine, especially for what it cost.
One of those for a few dollars would be a good introduction to fountain pens. If you like it, buy something better to try out. If you don't, bin it.
Sounds good David, by coincidence I have been using one of these Jinhao pens today, it cost me £1 including postage from China, the pen is well made, a smooth writer and is no big deal if it was to be lost or broken, whereas I would be a little vexed if the same thing was to happen to a Montblanc or an older Parker.
If others want to ebay search for this pen,as referred to by David, it is a Jinhao 599, they are in a choice of colors but my personal preference is the near clear plastic.
