It's 4am and apparently I can't sleep, so it's off to run about 5 miles then my shower and shave. I feel like it's going to be a rose sort of day with a finely tailored bespoke three-piece suit.

Prep: Hot post-run shower with Proraso Pre/Post Sensitive
Razor: Merkur 38M HD
Blade: Israeli Red Personna
Brush: C&E Stainless Steel Best Badger made in Sheffield England
Cream: Trumper's Rose
Post: Alum, Thayer's Unscented Witch Hazel, and Trumper's Coral Skin Food
Scent: Czech & Speake No. 88

Guys I just have to say, there's something personally satisfying about being a smooth-shaven and exceptionally incredible smelling 25 year old 3L law student. By this point almost all my friends have become completely apathetic and most have fallen to wearing sweats and not shaving (I'm in Omaha, NE - the weather is horrid - too much snow/cold/late nights reading). I truly believe that forcing myself to continue my daily regimen of my morning running/shaving is one of the only things anchoring me down in to reality so I don't just lose it and snap like some of my friends have.

So I want to say thank you all for being my bastion of sanity (I know, everyone here being the more sane of my affiliations, right?) as I make it through these last two-ish months of school; then the ten weeks that follow as I review for the Bar exam which I sit for on July 27th and 28th - these two days will be the culmination of my last seven years of school in a make-or-break sort of scenario. While I more usually lurk than post due to school-related time constraints, please know you've all been helpful for infinitely more than just learning to DE/straight shave.

Here's to a great start of everyone's week!

(PS - I received 5 compliments while out Saturday night on C&S No. 88; any guy hesitant on wearing a rose otto, don't be, the ladies love smelling it.)

Omega 30005 Boar
Tabac Shaving Soap
Boots Distilled Witch Hazel
Gillette Sensitive After Shave Balm

Once again, my new boar destroyed the soap and produced a rich, creamy lather. What an amazing brush. Also, I keep my witch hazel in an old Dr Bronner's container as it's easier to dribble out.

Leon,
Is that Savon de Marseille Rose in the background there?

On a boring Monday with lots of new snow outside the windows, I decided to take my shave as a strole through some streets in London I like.

I started at Geo F. Trumper in Curzon Street, Mayfair, and went on to Jermyn Street. Here I passed all the wonderful shirtmakers displays to Taylor of Old Bond Street.

Round Davidoff's corner and down to the end of St. James's Street, where I entered Truefitt & Hill. On my way back along St. James's Street towards Piccadilly, I made a short visit at D.R. Harris & Co.

How much? Please don't ask, and I didn't even reach Penhaligon's in Burlington Arcade just at the other side of Piccadilly.

My Monday-shave:

Proraso pre-shave Cream
Geo F. Trumper Sandalwood Shaving Soap

Proshave-scuttle (Danish Special)
Taylor of Old Bond Street Super/Silvertip Badger kost
Truefitt & Hill Wellington DE-razor
Feather (1)

D.R. Harris & Co Arlington After Shave Milk.

Unbelievable how one can be longing for at pint just by shaving...:001_unsur

Good Monday morning all..

Fat Handle Tech w/ Feather (1)
Semogue 1305
Lea shave stick
Dickinson's WH
Speick a/s
Anherb a/s conditioner
Acqua di Selva Edt

Very smooth DFS with the Lea/Tech/Feather combo after a day off...used an Elkistuna 4/8 straight on Saturday and carelessly nicked my cheek so I didn't shave yesterday...feels great to be back to it. The Acqua di Selva remonds me how much I like it every time I use it.
