Amazing! So you leave it on the razor all the time? You open it to rinse it at least?
Pretty awesome.
I don't open it at all. I just rinse the closed razor under the water when I'm done shaving and put the razor in it's stand.
What rules? I think most folks just use the blade without opening the razor in between shaves.
Not tossing the blade after a fixed number of shaves to start with.
Then I've been reading tons of threads about how people are using rubbing alcohol, flip the blade this or the other way, use only one side for x number of shaves, using stropping gadgets, wipe this and not that, hair dryers, never leave wet ...

Indeed, the time is about upon us. This will be easy for my Excalibur brethren..but I'm sure most will join in the fun. I hope to see Steve in Shalimar break his prior record!
Is there a new thread for this year's challenge? I'm keen to see if I can go further than I did last year.
With 70 shaves on the Astra Superior Stainless as of this morning, I'm sure that it will make it through February. This blade is still doing a fine job and taking no more time to leave a BBS finish.

I'll start the new thread today! Can't believe it's going to be the seventh year!
Congrats! Even showing the proof. That blade looks like something that I would never get near my face with, though as long as the cutting edge is rust free then I suppose it's all good. Thanks for posting that.
