The tan tip people talk about is not even a Flare Tip, it's a Black Tip.
We demand proof.......

I was on that for a bit. I really want a Pocket edition, but I am over budget as well. Nice pickup.I don't know why but I just pulled the trigger on this. With shipping it cost me 50 bucks. The inside of the case is done, but the razor looks to be OK. Though the seller's pic are pretty crappie. Maybe I can buy some felt and try my hand at case restoration.
I need help. I'm easy over budget this month. Maybe I should set myself a limit.
I stand corrected: Fifty. Plus two straights, a Rolls, 3 injectors, and 3 SE's.

You know the tan tip thing is a myth, right? That came about from a misinterpretation of some text in an old book, referring to the tan case some of the flair tips came in, I believe.
Have you shaved with all of them? Do you have a favorite, or set of favorites?
I'm having anxiety trying to decide which to use first!
Recently traded for these with fellow B&Bers, they all arrived today!

RAD has taken hold, but I think once I have a Fatboy and a Flare Tip, it will be satiated (yeah, famous last words, right?)
Didn't the same knurling on handle and knob differentiate it as a Bostonian or aristocrat. ..I thought I read that on a post somewhere. ..could be totally off in left field but this post just stirred something in the back of my memory.Btw ...without even knowing the serial # I can tell you it's an early New Improved from 1921, because the knob has the same knurling pattern as the handle, unlike Achim's examples above.
Very cool!
Very cool in deed. ..was this a wild find or online? That's always interesting to me. Makes me even more jealous when it's found in the wild.Hello all, I just wanted to show one of my most recent acquisitions. It's an NOS display rack with five GEM Micromatics, all NOS and in pristine condition. I'm really happy with this display set. I was always looking at those NOS Super Speed racks with envy, so when this rack of GEMs showed itself, I scooped it up as soon as I could. Here's some photos-

Lol. ..like I said left field. No, I don't think so. If you notice, Achim's Bostonian and Aristocrat have the exact same knurling, New Standard, Richwood ... all the same.
AFAIK, the same knurling on handle and knob razors were all 1921 examples.
