@thombrogan i agree. Lord blades perform well and are a great value.
Do you know if the ASCO Super Stainless Orange is PTFE coated? The shave app I use says the blade is PTFE coated. The Lord website does not state it is coated.

I haven’t heard of non-carbon DE that doesn’t have a PTFE coating. Maybe some industrial use ones from Accutec/Personna, but nothing wet-shavers talk about.

@thombrogan PTFE is short for Polytetrafluoroethylene. Teflon is a Polytetrafluoroethylene. In other words a polymer or plastic. PTFE is used to make the blade edge smooth.
Other coatings are Chrome and Platinum. These coating are used to make the blade edge last longer.
Ceramic coatings may be used to make the blade edge smoother and last longer.
There are probably more coatings that are not on my radar.

It’s too bad the manufacturers are not more forthcoming about their blade specifications. But, I can understand they may want to protect their intellectual property.

To my faithful fan base, I am gathering input,
Clearly ASCO Super Stainless (Orange box) is sharper than the Shark Super Stainless. Silver Star Super Stainless is also sharper than the Shark super stainless. In my experience.
So which razor should I use for the next shave using Shark Super Stainless?
RazoRock BBS, Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 or Rex Envoy?

The RR BBS will confirm if this one was a rogue blade.
The Envoy would check to see if results are better with the more efficient/effective razor.
