I had problems with my wedge too. Just take your time and try to make it actually look like a thin pizza slice. I didn't glue my wedges because it's easier to take apart if you don't apply glue. I guess you'll have to use glue if you intend on doing a pinless wedge. You can also use CA for the finish but you need to work really fast and apply with latex gloves or finger cots.
